Spoiler Alert
At some point in this thread, you might be tempted to stop reading the whole thing, deciding that you have no interest in this WR. If that happens, before you bail, jump to the very end and look at my NFL comp and draft grade for Oklahoma WR, Isaiah Sategna.
Sategna is a small and fast slot WR. My fear is that when Ram fans hear that, they will immediately assume that he's another Tutu Atwell. I profiled a very similarly sized WR, Tre Richardson, and said he was very similar to Tutu. No, let's make it very clear right off the bat, Sategna is NOT THE SAME as Tutu Atwell. Capitalized and bolded for emphasis.
Sategna is lightly regarded by the draft media industry consensus. PFN has a consensus board where they pull rankings from 6 different sources. There are 184 total prospects on the board and Sategna failed to make the cut, so his name doesn't appear on the board. On the NFLMDD consensus board, Sategna is ranked 167th, which would be late 5th round. In NFLMDD's simulator, he's in UDFA territory. DraftBuzz has 48 WRs ranked on their board. Sategna's name doesn't appear at all on their board. In this year's draft, there were 36 WRs selected. CJ Daniels was number 31. So, per DB, Sategna is deep in UDFA range. We have no idea how far down, since they didn't bother to even do a profile on him. In the PFSN simulator, he's 187th, which would be a 6th round pick.
Considering that each of these major draft boards have Sategna as only a late round to UDFA player, when you see my draft grade on Sategna, you'll probably think that I've gone crazy or that it is just a hot take. Hold your horses. I'm not a lone voice in the woods. In Shane Hallam's 7-round mock draft, Sategna is gone before the Rams make their first pick. He's a 2nd round selection, slot 48. Sategna is drafted ahead of Ryan Wingo in this mock. If Hallam proves right, the Rams can't wait and try to sign Sategna as an UDFA, they would have to make a substantial trade up to get him in the 2nd round. Per the Rich Hill trade chart, the Rams don't even have enough draft capital to make such a move. They would have to use a Day 2 pick in the 2028 draft to get it done. We'd basically be talking two Day 2 picks to get an "UDFA prospect".
Let's move beyond just subjective opinions and talk analytics. PFN has an Impact Score that measures the productivity of players. In 2025, Makai Lemon ranked 4th in the nation in impact score. Jeremiah Smith was 5th. Charlie Becker was 9th. Ryan Wingo was 48th. CJ Daniels was 122nd. TJ Moore from Clemson, who I consider as having possible 1st round upside, was 95th. Omarion Miller, a popular 1st round projection, was 59th. Eric Singleton Jr, a pretty well regarded small but electric WR, was 123rd.
Guess where Sategna ranked? He was 16th in the country. He had 7.9 yards after catch per reception. Lemon had 6.4 YAC/R and Jeremiah Smith had 4.4.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Sategna is the next Makai Lemon. There would be no point in doing a profile on him if I thought that Sategna was going to get drafted in the top 20 overall. I am suggesting that if any of you wanted the Rams to draft Lemon instead of Ty Simpson, you probably should read the rest of this profile. If the industry consensus is correct and Sategna might not get drafted or at best is only a late round pick, he could end up being one of the biggest steals in the entire draft pool. I'm siding with Shane Hallam on this one, I think some of the other experts are way off about this player.
One reason I'm confident in Sategna's potential to produce at the NFL level is the Detroit Lions had a similar WR in this mold named Kalif Raymond, who was an UDFA in 2016. Raymond is a very good returner and a complementary speed WR. The Rams drafted Tutu Atwell in the 2nd round of the 2021 draft. The Lions got Raymond the same year as a street FA on a vet minimum contract. Since there was almost no guaranteed money, the Lions could have cut him at any time that year with no negative cap implications. At that point in his career, Raymond had bounced around 4 different NFL teams and was regarded as just a PR candidate. Instead of drafting Atwell, the Rams could have just grabbed Raymond out of the trash bin and gotten a better result. Not everything is about the draft. There are other ways of improving your roster that are completely unrelated to the draft.
