Very difficult.
My Dad used to fly lots of classified military missions. Sometimes he didn't even know return dates or locations up front. He would try and give my Mom a round about date of return,,, but sometimes it was way off. My Mom freaked out on more than one occasion, and of course freaked me out in the process. It's a horrible feeling not knowing for sure.
But... There were reports this plane went to 45,000ft. What if that manoeuvre was intended to decompress the cabin and kill the passengers?
Then, fly the plane to a destination to be repurposed into a bomb?
It's a bizarre set of things to consider. Some crazy.
But until it's found... Who knows?
I wouldn't guess there are too many secret runways in the world big enough to handle a 777.

Less than a mile is all it takes to land that plane.......so it wouldnt be that hard to carve out a place.......drug smugglers do it every day on a smaller scale.
Like I said, its on the bottom of the sea or parked somewhere.
What would you do with the bomb plane though? If you fly it into another country's airspace, they'll shoot it down. Plus, a plane with fuel is already basically a firebomb.
Drug smugglers didn't have 777. You'd have to carve out a place, pave over the runway and then avoid military radar and satellites. I'm not saying it's impossible but I think it would be very difficult and costly to do. And for what purpose?
My guess would be it crashed in the water.
Debris? That's the puzzling part of a plane going down in water. There is a pretty big debris field, one that expands over time, and a whole lot of people looking for it. Yes, a big ocean, but very advanced means of locating it in use.
I hear ya but I think somebody knows more than what has been reported. It would not surprise me if the plane has landed safely either. Could it have been stolen? Yes. Could it be attempted to use it for terror? Yes Could it be successful? Probably not, unless, some super well laid plans were put into place to allow it to be refueled and moved already but that would have had to happen pretty quick after landing. A lot of people would have to have been involved to pull it off and some elaborate scheming to prevent any cell phone calls not to be made. When Air France 447 went down, it took them days to find any debris and they had a much smaller area to search. If someone did turn off the transponder and then flew the plane off course, it's possible we just haven't looked in the right place yet.

Personally if I was to steal a 777 for a mission to bomb or use the plane as a bomb. I would repaint it with US Air Force colors and turn it into a tanker since the KC767 is nothing more than a 767. So I am betting a redone 777 could pass for a KC-767 upon first look. So I would do as such and plan a target no one would ask questions to see a KC-767 above.
Except it won't be flying with an Air Force transponder and they'll have to communicate who they are. If they don't, the country they're flying over will alert the US and I'm sure the US will be aware that it's not their plane.
I just don't see it happening. They're way too strict with airspace. Too many procedures. Doesn't make sense to me to steal the plane to try and land it then use it later on to attack. First of all, how are they going to land it unnoticed? Second of all, how are they going to fly into other airspace unnoticed? Third of all, where will they get the runway, hangar to hide it and fuel needed to refuel it?
I can't see this happening. IMO, the plane is gone. Sad as it is.
The military is constantly encrypting things and putting in a new fill weekly. I don't know how the Air Force does it, but I know in the Army if someone were to steal a radio they would have at most 6 days to use it before the fills are changed over. That's assuming that nobody spoke up about it being lost and having the fill changed right off the bat.
At least for the US. Either way I agree thst its too late to use it as a weapon now, unless they plan on hiding it for 20 years so everyone forgets.
Debris found? It's probably the end to this mystery if true.
As time goes on the thesis that it is somewhere on land becomes more and more accepted, and FWIW the US could know where and be in the midst of planning a rescue mission that would not be served by disclosing that we know where it is.
As far as it's usefulness,Pakistan has numerous nukes and materials to construct them ,that plane could be re purposed to carry a nuke quite easily and IF the passengers are alive it COULD be that they would be on the plane when it was commissioned on it's intended mission, leaving it a tough damned call whether to let it into vulnerable air space or shoot it down.
