One other (good) thing about the AD speculation, this is, without a doubt, the LAST time we will have to deal with this. This is a now-or-never scenario. If he doesn't come back THIS season- 2 years removed and with Myles joining the team, and Super Bowl at SoFi- there's extremely little chance he's coming back next year 3 years removed or years after.

I'd handicap it at slightly better chance AD plays at some point this year. Something in the 51-49 range.
I was saying 35% chance of happening on Tuesday. I’ve adjusted it to 49% chance now.

I don’t think he’s coming back.

But if he did, I hope it’s the last 1/3rd of the season. Say like 4-5 games left. That way he’s fresher come playoff time (not worn out).
Also, it means we pay him less. I don’t think we need him for the whole season. A late season add is good for him (fresher) and us (less $$$ and cap hit).

I’d rather him come back now and kept in a healthy rotation. He doesn’t require the playing time as in years past. Keep him fresh, keep him healthy, keep him in sync with the defense, and keep him in game shape for when we really need him

It doesn't mesh with what Donald has said in the past to think he is going to come in late in the season. I would guess that if - and that is a big IF - Donald returns, it will be to play most if not all of the season. The coaching staff knows what they're doing and so does Aaron. They'll handle it the best way for the team and AD. My guess would be that a more limited role but not by all that much. I'm guessing that Aaron's pride won't allow it. He's either all in or not in at all.

But neither does coming out of retirement. This is uncharted territory

He's always in great shape. But he still has to get into game shape. Joining halfway through the season doesn't make sense and joining late in the season makes even less sense. I gotta believe IF anything comes of this, he'll be in camp. Maybe late in camp but he be there.

True. But does it seem like a Donald thing to let the team do the work so he could come in at the end and steal the glory? That's not the AD I want to see and I doubt that is who he is.

I would doubt he would want to go through a training camp.

Plus, coming in later might also help the salary cap.
