Through the 1st 3 quarters Donald had 0 tackles. Where was this scary 3 projected sack unstoppable force?

Rams D made Crappolo look like Montana. He had a perfect QB rating in the 1st half. In fact, Rams are 0-4 vs Crappolo so far. Can't find a way to beat him. In comparison the Rams were a respectable 2-2 vs Montana in his 1st 4 starts. What is it about Crappolo that the Rams can't figure out? Other teams bring him down to earth but so far he's been the Rams' kryptonite. They either need to stop the bleeding in the rematch or get swept 2 years in a row. If the Rams don't care enough to show up for this team, then I won't care to show up to watch them.

The problem the Rams have with Crappolo is that we don’t put any hits on him. He’s the type guy that if you hit him early he is shot for the rest of the game. Throws off his back foot or gets happy feet. Unfortunately if Donald isn’t getting to him no one else on this team can.

With certain guys like Jimmy I would subscribe to the Greg Williams method and take a 15 yard roughing penalty early to get him off his game.

Staley is a first time DC on a totally new team and little to no offseason program. I have to imagine that most of his time in the offseason was spent installing his defense and scouting his own players, strengths, weaknesses, who starts, where they play, etc. Which leaves less time to scout opposing offenses, and seeing how there was no preseason it's probably hard to fully do since most teams will alter their team and scheme. I'm thinking thats why we see a big difference in first and second half defense. Of course there is times where the defense is flat out beat, it happens. I'm willing to bet that the defense looks more consistent towards the end of the season. And granted I don't follow other teams much, don't have the time, but by looking at box scores and highlights it doesn't look like there's any defenses out there consistently shutting down opponents.

Garappolo was so untouched the whole game he decided to actually try and run for a first down just so he could get his jersey dirty

That was the frustrating thing about last night and the defensive gameplan of the first half, which enabled them to get ahead due to the ineptness of the offense.

Garrapolo has the mental toughness of a five-year old girl tripping on acid, but we let the 49ers hide that weakness.

Until the second half, when the defense completely shut them down.

4th in yards, 4th in points, 5th in sacks. Loving this defense.

Hence the reason I mentioned first half in my post. I've got no beef with the way the D played in the 2nd half.

You do realize that the SF Game plan was to get it out of JG's hand before AD could get there right? I mean he isn't super human. If a team is getting the ball out of the QBs hand in under 2 seconds, NOBODY is getting a sack.

So your expectation was that being double teamed, Donald could get home to the QB in under 2 seconds. Got it. To the point that you have that new Avatar. WOW.
