Matthieu would help us big time. I'd like to see this happen.

I'll believe it if I see another source with it.

Apparently, he freelances as opposed to following where he is supposed to be schematically.

I am not sure if there is truth to those rumours (and if there is, if he would do the same in horns).

The Steelers tried to land him at the beginning of free agency.

If the Rams sign him it will be lots of fun to talk to my buddy who is a Steelers fan. It’s the same guy who said Von Miller was washed up last year.

A few weeks ago he was raving about Matthieu, once he found out the Steelers wanted him. If Tyrann goes to the Rams he’ll say they overpaid for another over the hill veteran. :laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:

That's how it is with opposing fans......either we overpaid, are cheating the cap or are taking a huge chance on an old player. Man, it's a great time to be a Rams fan.

I find that "pop" sound when opposing fans' heads explode from a combination of rage and jealousy oddly soothing.

I don't like being a fan that speculates about player acquisitions. Would rather wait for a legit-insider-report.

That being said, let me now speculate about a player acquisition. I hate myself.

The Rams are reported (Spotrac, Over-the-Cap) to have about $7M of cap space right now. They only need about $2M for their draft-class. Donald and Kupp currently count for $45M-plus of the Rams' 2022 salary cap. Both are expected to get new deals that should lower their 2022 cap-hit to the Rams.

Where are the Rams planning to spend the $?

The Giants need cap-relief. They also have about $7M of cap space. However, New York also has two choices in the top-seven, and five draft choices in the top-81. The Giants need more then $16M for their draft-class! There is a lot of talk here in NYC that they want to move James Bradberry; and it's mostly about needing cap-relief.

Personally, I would much prefer Bradberry to Stephon Gilmore. Bradberry has missed five games in six years. Gilmore has missed fourteen games in the past two seasons, and is three years older.

I've spoken for weeks about Bradbury I believe thats one of the things Jourdan hints as per her tweets about a week ago or so (not Bradbury but a trade or trades). Bradbury is a realistic acquisition with room left over when Kupp and AD are restructured. Bradbury could also qualify for a restucture I believe however he may not perform well so you may not want to kick that can. Jourdan seemed to elude to the Rams almost having a plan in place like a free agent or two and a trade.

I don't know where the Rams want to go with this plan but I like it so far. If you look at these cap hits it's crazy they can just add whatever they need as long as it's the right player that's what makes this front office special. They just aren't going to go sign names for names sake and do these cap structures they target players and usually end up hitting.

Now I'd be ok with Bradbury
I'd love Gilmore at a discount
Honey badger is a great luxury
If you signed or traded for corner and then honey badger the pass rush with draft is going to be just fine.

If you only get one of the above the. I'd like to see a top notch edge

I do want AD to have the right help though. I know Wagner allows AD certain freedoms knowing he can be super aggressive and having back up at that mid level could be huge for AD but I'd still like to minimize his ware and tare and be fresh come the end of the year. Also to help so no triple teams as he will never get away from doubles lol

The scheme allows him to roam, it's kind of a disguise-trap scheme. He's really good at it, very instinctive player.

What Chief fans didn't like to see was him shying away from contact in this last contract year. On top of that scouts believe he's lost a step. His constant Twitter tirades were the cherry on top, him calling the Chiefs Kingdom "most toxic fan base in all of sports."

It was rumored he originally wanted a deal just shy of Jamal Adams, around 16 mil a year. Looks like he may be getting half that being he's on the wrong side of 30.

But the Rams seem to be no stranger to malcontents. In fact they appear to do well there. Marcus Peters, Ramsey, now Mathieu in the mix. It's impressive to see the Rams work their cap space. IDK how they do it. Good stuff.

The Badger scares me a little. Ramsey and him in the same backfield smells like trouble waiting to happen. We've seen how Jalen went off on Rapp when he missed an assignment, imagine the explosion if Mathieu was freelancing and wasn't where he was supposed to be? Could breed discontent in the locker room.

Honestly, I'd prefer Gilmore. Never been a huge Honey Badger fan unless we're talking nicknames.
