For you old head fans like me (and maybe some of you younger fans who are interested) this was a great game. I remember the lateral to Candidate like it was yesterday. He went off in his first start. Lot of players from the Jets I just forgot about.

It’s really interesting to see how different the game looked (TV quality) and was played/officiated in that era.

Gotta love those shoulder pads.

I saw that team vs SF in SF that year. It was the first game post-9/11. My wife and I flew from LA to SF and there were less than five passengers on the plane. In fact, we had I think a noon flight and when we got to the terminal at LAX we got there early enough to get on an earlier flight. The crew was thrilled to have passengers. The hotel was empty and a fancy restaurant on its top floor waived all dress requirements and gave each diner a free drink to get some business. I can still smell the garlic fries from Candlestick.

Wow man. What an experience. Those were scary times for all of us. My brother and I went to TWA Dome a few times a year back then. We were nervous to go back for a bit because of 9/11.

In summer of 2019, I happened to be in the St Louis area and I walked around the old dome just to see it. First time I had been there since they moved back to LA. It felt so strange. The last game I attended was the game when Robert Quinn set the single sack record for the Rams 2013.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Nice!

I lived in OC at the time, and I flew the week after that SF game to the Dolphins game in St. Louis, which happened to be the first St. Louis home game after 911. It was a cool experience like yours, and the Rams just destroyed Miami that day!

RF58 didn't mention that he got arrested for misunderstanding exactly what that meant.
