Concussions in hockey are almost never are a 1 week injury. They keep players out for a few weeks, at a minimum, often several weeks, if not months on end.
NFL collisions are just as violent as those seen in the NHL. If not more. Although NHL players often do collide at higher rates of speed, as skating lets you move much faster than on foot.
The NFL culture regarding head injuries needs to change.
