This stuff is horrendous.
It seems that our playback consists of about 8 plays.
Short screen passes to receivers and the tight end to either side, all near or behind the line of scrimmage, mixed with the occasional off tackle run on predictable running downs.
We're getting short passed to death by opposing offences who can see pre-snap that we're playing soft undisguised zone D on virtually every play.
Opponents just use the same gameplan against us as the team the week before, little additional work is required.
On the 4th and one play on our 6 yard line on the Cards' first touchdown drive, Colt McCoy was able to run for the first down and go out of bounds because Leonard Floyd, inexplicably, went inside and gave up outside containment. A veteran player can't make that mistake.
The pre-snap hole in our line on the Cards' touchdown run was so wide that my grandma could have run through it untouched.
Tyrell Lewis was positioned far outside and not connected with the defensive line. We didn't have enough players in the box and the Cards had double team advantages all through the LOS.
This is embarrassing stuff, Pop Warner really.
At halftime McVay was preparing his post-game press conference speech about having to put the team in a better position to win.
Save the speech and make adjustments instead, you may want to call a few different plays, give some new players a try. This is truly a s___tshow, another national TV whupping, Wolford has been awful and his reads have been unacceptably slow, the ball coming out with no confidence, no zip, no accuracy.
We've got no pressure on the opposing QB, poor tackling, off coverage in soft zones, dreadful safety play, no pass breakups anywhere.
