Probably because Stacy got more carries per game than anyone in the NFL that season. If he had played all 16 games at that rate he would have had like 350 carries. If Mason got that many carries he'd have that many 100 yard games easy

And people question his durability?! I still think he was underused last season.

Agree with the people questioning the Pead love. Finding a rb who can contribute on special teams isn't gonna be to hard to do. Pead can catch, but maybe given more practice and reps, the rest can as well, also include blocking in that.

I rather draft a late round RB and let our rb's develop more and cut Pead. Waste of a roster spot. He might be fast and have the best moves, but his happy feet and indecisiveness makes him useless. He'd have better luck winning dancing with the stars with those feet than becoming one of our top 3 backs.

Agree though, if it's purely on the special teams that he's contributing then we might as well draft a late round 'specialist'

It where I lose the 'business' of football, paying him high bucks and he doesn't really contribute, is it a case of the coaches not wanting to look bad in cutting their losses in admitting a poor pick? I didn't like the pick when they did it, I thought he was drafted far too high. But that's just me.

Hard to dress Stacy on a Sunday when you have Mason in front of him, Cunningham as 3rd down back and the 3rd RB will usually need to contribute on special teams. One of the reasons he was underused - and correct me if I'm wrong - was because there were games where he didn't even dress. He did end up playing some special teams toward the end of the year though...

I'm a fan of his though... I mean, all he does is pick up yards... but we can't all be perfect.

I think the Rams should grab a rb late or a few unfa rb's or both every year.

Good rb's seem to be able to be grabbed later than other positions.

Then why is he still on the team? Anyone know what Pead's cap hit is this year? The fact that he's still on the team says alot about his ability. Before he went down, I believe he had won the kick off job but hadn't really found a place on the offense.

Not sure I agree that he had won the Kr job with his fumble issues returning kicks

i keep jumping around mentioning S. Jackson but Pead is a dud. and Stacy is a little bowling ball but he's slow. theres nothing he can do that Jackson or Benny couldn't do pounding the ball with Mason making the big breaks. Mason, Benny and Jackson. but it'll probably never happen even tho jackson I'm sure would take a very small salary just like he did in Atlanta

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Georgia RB Todd Gurley's medically-repaired knee "checked out fine" at the NFL Combine medical rechecks.
Gurley declined to have his knee examined at the Combine, but he passed through the recheck process with no issues. There have been reports Gurley will begin the season on the PUP list, but Rapoport added the "hope" is Gurley will be ready for training camp. He will only be eight months removed from the injury when camps begin, so it may be nothing more than "hope" he will be ready by then. I've never actually seen him play in a game except for garbage time his rookie year so how are you coming to the conclusion that he's our best 3rd down back

You may be right, but Reynolds led all RBs in special teams snaps, being in on 63% of them (Watts not that far behind at 51%). Interestingly (at least to me) is that Cunningham was in on more offensive snaps than Mason (by a small margin). Didn't seem that way watching the games.

I hope Pead is able to play this season. I still think he could be one heck of a RB if given a real chance.
I would take Watts over Reynolds.
I also want to see some ceativity withthe RB's, 2-back sets, not just Cunnungham on 3rd down. Let's see Mason and Cunningham, Mason and Stacey, Mason and Harkey, my favorite would be Mason and Pead. That would be a fearsome tandem coming at you.

I will never understand the Pead love from the Rams' fan base. Considering he's basically never showed diddly squat, what the heck is it people see in him? Or more accurately, what is it people imagine they see from him since he hasn't been on the field enough to make any determinations.

And yes, he gets a chance....every time he steps on the practice field. And he keeps getting beat by supposedly lesser 'talents'. IMO, he'll be lucky to make the squad this year if Special Teams is his only playing time...simply because Reynolds and/or Watts would come cheaper.
