A lot of the plays he made were plays he was beaten but the ball placement allowed his make up speed to come into play. Later with better QB play he just was beat. To me he isn't sticky enough. It is good he has the speed to make up for getting beat, but his guys get open. Alot.
For a guy who's supposedly fast I saw him get beat past 15 yards quite a bit last year and just didn't look like he could make up the distance between him and his guy once his guy was able to get even with him. Seemed a lot better in deep zone making plays coming downhill.

I’m no expert but he seems to excel at zone coverage but gets dominated on man coverage.
In an ideal world we'd be playing man-match in the secondary but I think Forbes got beaten there when the receiver entered his zone and he converted to man coverage. I think it's a big reason we moved to more pure zone near the end of the season, we just didn't have the guys to play man-match.

BTW, I think man-match is going away in the NFL in general. Defenses have gotten really good at beating it's rules so zone match is starting to take over. I still have a hard time describing the difference but zone match is basically the zone you play isn't predetermined, the WR's route early in the down determines your zone drop.

Unless he's gotten much bigger, I'm hopeful Forbes gets beat out.

I've re-watched a few games and he's just a speed bump vs. the run and on special teams.

Won't get any better if teams copy the Rams with the TEs.

Forbes is probably gone after this year but I cannot unsee some of the positives he brought to the Rams last year. He has length and made some good plays in zone coverage. Im hoping he balls out this year and either finds a depth role on the Rams or solid FA interest that could give the Rams a late comp pick.

Will be interesting. I think he's a player who hasn't peaked. Talent and potential is definitely there, but he really needs 10 - 15 lbs of muscle and more consistency in his game. I would imagine the Rams are watching very closely early on since there are quite a few decent CBs still available in free agency. Sneed wants to be a Ram and certainly isn't what he used to be, but would definitely be a high end #3. Lattimore went from superstar to dud - was it only injuries or system and scenery? Douglas is still good enough to be a top #3. Kenny Moore still available. Point is, the Rams have options if Forbes doesn't step up. I'd certainly feel more comfortable with one of those veterans if the $ works out, but I think the Rams are smart to see how hard Forbes worked in the off season first.

Forbes may make the final roster, but it's far from certain.
I concur with this assessment. I expect the Rams to add another CB after Monday, like L'Jarius Sneed for example, plus I am very high on UDRFA Al'zillion Hamilton so I guess what I am trying to communicate is that because Forbes Does not have an apostrophe in his first name, I don't believe he will make the team.
