I’ve heard some personalities suggesting the Rams make their way back into the first round to fix the host of problems they have, of course this would mean trading somebody important, which would create one more hole to fill. Thoughts?

I'd rather trade our 2024 1'st round draft pick for a quality 2023 player with a history of excellence.

QBs take time and you don't know until you're a few years in if then. Still the best place to take them is up high.

We need a LT badly. That's another position you can find elsewhere but the higher the better. I feel like if they can find a LT then the line is fixable. Guards are easy comparatively speaking.

So yeah I'd say we need a first rounder. Because blindside edge is another position that doesn't last long. Teams gonna snap them up fast as always. As things stand we're looking at the risky guys who fall out of round one, the ones who have questions, or the overachievers who are slightly short on talent. Statistically a lot harder I think to solve either of those positions where we are in round two, though it's miles better than where we were last year.

It's a tough puzzle. If it was anyone other than McVay running this team I'd say 2023 is a rebuild season.

Snead has 1's again after 2023. In 2024 they have one pick in every round except the 7th where they don't have any. So next year the first round picks in 2024 and 2025 become trade bait, i.e. Fuck Them Picks.

The wildcard is Perkins. If he plays well the rest of the season (assuming they shut Stafford down like I think they will, tipped by releasing Hollins and Henderson), then Perkins could become potential trade bait. If not then I expect Snead to go edge in the second round and RB in the third round.

If their OL will be 100% healthy they should be fine. Shelton, Havenstein, Noteboom, Jackson, Bruss, Thomas, Arcuri, Anchrum and Toner should complete the OL. They might be looking at Toner as a backup Center with Shelton starting and Allen being released. Allen has missed too many games that is his problem. He plays well enough when he's healthy but that is precisely the issue, i.e. his health.

I would anticipate Havenstein's last year would be 2023 as they have Noteboom and Jackson as their starting OT's.

That’s my feeling, we just need better production from the picks we have. Unfortunately Tutu is kind of the poster boy for vanity picks and we might be without two of our higher drafted rbs after this year.
People want to say look what this top heavy roster has got you but you know who has an even higher percentage of the cap tied up in a few players? The Chiefs. If you’re smart you can do this and win, with a little luck.

We need a quality LT. I don't trust Boom. He's been injury prone and we can't count on him to last the whole season.

We also need another edge and it's hard to quantify but we need someone who is a "whiner killer".

Looks like OBJ is off to Dallas or elsewhere at this point.

Looking at the Rams players 25 and younger and there isn't a lot to get excited about. Whitworth, Miller and OBJ are gone and we haven't compensated for their absence. Now people are questioning how long Donald, Ramsey and Stafford are going to be around.

They need more young, ascending talent on affordable contracts.

Such as who & how do you do it ?

IMO - listening to Mcvay The only way he can do it right now is to stay in the moment.
To think he doesn’t have a grasp on things would be crazy. Any Ram Fan that doesn’t believe it ? I would say go ———. I’m Old School in Disco Rules & We Our Family.
I’m Thankful to Be a Rams Fan.

What I think The Rams need right Now is exywhat Sean Mcvay is going to do. Stay in the moment. Trust your players. Continue to GRIND!! Find out what B. Perkins can do.

If you want to stay NEGATIVE to ALL RAMS FANS. So B’ It ?

There is a lot of talent on The Rams. This week headlines is enough to get excited about.

I won’t name the players. I will watch the game a couple of times since I’ve either been lucky enough or dumb enough by accident not to have recorded the games.

HENDO & Hollins are both gone. I’d say just in those 2 positions a lone will be upgrades NOW & in The Future!

Agree but a quality LT and an Edge are two very difficult positions to identify and fill.

Maybe the Rams can work a deal to get into the late-first-round. Maybe.

Pending free agent LTs are Orlando Brown Jr. who almost certainly will not hit the market; plus George Fant, Isaiah Wynn, Andre Dillard, Cameron Erving and Kelvin Beachum. Do any of those guys excite you?

Talking heads always think they have the answers to someone else's problem. Truth is if they had the answers they'd be the ones making decisions.

If packaging our 2nd round pick with our 2024 first round pick allowed us to move up and take a Blue Chip OT, I’d consider such a move. Having an extra year on a rookie deal for a (hopefully) franchise LT would be a very good thing.

We weren't sure about Whit when we grabbed him, either, due to age, etc. You have to take some shots. Just letting the situation rot out from under us unaddressed isn't working.

I agree; and an excellent point on Whitworth. I posted yesterday that a lot of "Experts" thought Whitworth was done when the Rams signed him; and he was just taking a final big pay-check from a desperate team.

However, I would argue that re-signing Noteboom was "taking a shot". His talent is good enough for solid-LT-play but his lack of durability was (and certainly is) a major risk and concern.

I'm really big on What is Realistic given the Market and Cap Limitations. So what are the Rams options at LT?

Maybe they take a swing at Andre Dillard. Philadelphia drafted him in the 1st Round to be its starting LT but he was beaten-out by a 7th Rounder (Jordan Mailata). I loved Isaiah Wynn coming out of Georgia and was hoping the Rams would move-up into the 2nd Round and select him (they had no #1 or #2 in 2018). However, New England drafted Wynn late in the 1st Round; and he lost the LT spot ... and the RT spot.

The other pending free agent LTs seem pretty pedestrian. And none of these guys will sign for the veteran minimum because half the teams in the NFL need O-Line help.

So then there's the Draft. I did a quick check of the First Round Left Tackles selected between 2017 and 2021. It Ain't an overly impressive group.
Jedrick Wills and Rashawn Slater are the best. Tristan Wirfs and Penei Sewell are really good but have only played Right Tackle thus far. Christian Darrisaw looks pretty good but after that, the best are Garrett Boles, Kolton Miller, Cam Robinson, Jonah Williams and Anthony Thomas. That's pretty much it for good LTs taken in Round 1 for a 5-year-period; and most of those guys were drafted in the top-half of the Round.

The Rams will likely have a pick between the mid-30's and mid-40s; plus another in the late-60s-to-mid-70's. They may have cap space for one or two expensive free agents but most teams will have more $ to spend.

Maybe we can find another team's GM & HC that could care less for 1st rd selections & trade our injured worn-down old QB who needs a outstanding healthy OL to win for one.

Maybe we can trade the Lions back Stafford and get Goff, our 2 1sts and a 3rd back?
