Listening to NY fans they say he became a liability in pass coverage last year.

No he was horrible in pass coverage as a Ram and horrible in pass coverage as a Giant, teams targeted him on third down with the TE's and RB's and had a lot of success. In our division they would throw on him all day.

Nope. Not as good as CL who I think we can upgrade from. There are reasons a team cut him we moved on from him and he got worse. I really don't want to see an arm tackle bandit back at the ILB position.

We need Littleton. Just do it, Les.

Perfect example of what pisses me off about Kevin Demoff except how he lied.

He always over pays for players he could have signed earlier than he did. Over pays for Ogletree, but wouldn’t cough up the dollars for Littleton. Who cares where they were drafted . -Yes Les Snead is a part of this, but Demoff it goes back to Chris Long,JL#55 & beyond.
Then you go back to JZ & Shaw how they held out players. Just makes me upset they have never found a happy medium.
Grade your talent, it is not that hard. Higbee is a good start. Thought The Rams over paid, but they were not using him right.
Rob Havenstien was a good call if he plays like he should.I was not a big fan though because of injury. Then again thought Todd Gurley was a teach because of his injury issues from Georgia. He proved wrong, but now how is his knee ??
I think some of these signings were good. Robert Woods was a fanatic free agent signing & also like Robey-Coleman.
Sullivan & Whitworth we’re both excellent FA signings as well.

Hard calls on trades ?? Les Snead has been drafting well so that has been the saving grace.

For cheap, hell yes. If we're sticking with a 3-4, we'll need a veteran presence, even if he ends up being a backup.

As a cheaper option? Or do we go all in on Littleton?
Yes, you absolutely consider him (and any other potential replacements). The Rams free agent situation is a puzzle and we don't even know what the pieces look like yet.

I don't think Littleton is giving the Rams a discount. He's made peanuts in his career and needs to get paid. I don't think the Rams are going to pay him top dollar either, so signing him to a reasonable deal means waiting out early free agency and hoping he doesn't get any big offers. If a Fowler deal happens, that would also remove the Littleton option as well.

That likely means shopping for a veteran linebacker from the FA discount bin, where you'll likely find Ogletree and some other similar talents. Then it just comes down to price and preference. Ogletree also would not factor into the compensatory formula, so he gets a bit of a bump.

Ogletree is only good as a 4 - 3 outside linebacker who is the eyes on QB guy

He was great at stopping QB's like Wilson

Are the Rams really committed to a multi-multi look defense next year like the tea leaves suggest?

If so, I have to think there's a role for AO several times a year. I remember him having some speed/pursuit skills, so having him in there against one of those super-mobile QB's could be an asset. Also, you can hide him as a pass defender. Wade used him as a fake-blitz and drop into coverage guy and line up in coverage and blitz from the second level guy. If the Rams wanted a amoeba/psycho front for some games, AO could be useful there.

So should we consider signing him? Yeah, we should consider it.

But should we definitely sign him? This is a different question and it depends on the price tag and what the defense has in store for the upcoming season.

No, No, No and NO. The last thing we need is to see more arm tackles being broken for big gains at ILB.

A lot of us have been saying that we need to be more aggressive in stopping the run. Ogletree is not the answer.
