My point was how fast the four touchdowns came.
Yes, they did come quickly
Jackson was not the intended target on the Renfro pick-6. Looked like it might have been Larry Smith.
Yes, you're right --- it was Smith for sure. He ran a flat route out of the backfield. Jackson ran an out and up ... Dallas in Cover-3 sky. Ranfro had the flat in that coverage came running up stepped in front of the throw

I had to check, too. I had it wrong.

Los Angeles Rams Transcripts -
Defensive Coordinator Raheem Morris Wednesday, December 19, 2023

(On his reaction to Head Coach Sean McVay’s comments about coaching
to prevent explosive pass plays and the importance of having strong
communication between coaches and players on those moving forward)

“Well sometimes it's communication, sometimes you just get beat. The
communication ones are the ones that you can correct as a coaching staff and
when you get beat physically, you just have to win those battles as much as
you can and fight as hard as you can
. You have to stay on that regardless.
That's just like every week no matter what the case may be, especially as the
stakes get higher you would like to eliminate those things to keep guys from
being able to fight their way back into games or to be able to jump into leads.
You have to fight your way through those things consistently and constantly
throughout the process when you are talking about preventing big plays. You
just have to let your technique and your opportunity and your trust and
everything that's happening, the communication being on point and being great.
And when you get beat physically, those are the ones we can deal with. Those
are the ones, gun fighters get shot, I usually say up here for the most part all
the time, but those are the ones you can deal with.”

(On if he expects to make more changes opposite of DB Ahkello
Witherspoon)

“It is a forever, who is practicing the best? It’s who is playing the best? Those
things will always happen. I do like the production that we’ve gotten from that
opposite corner. We just have to eliminate some of the big plays or some of the
mistakes, some of the miscues that you have which you can expect from young
players, but at this point in the season, you’d like those guys to mature and get
better and better and keep growing. I do like some of the bounce back from the
guys though as we had some of the mistakes, particularly (DB Derion Kendrick)
‘DK’s’ when you have some misfortune or (Cobie (Durant) for that matter,
whoever it’s been. Those guys keep fighting, keep battling. We just have to
keep finding ways to win.”

(On the challenges when Witherspoon was injured)
“It's not really challenges, it's just how we kind of move through our personnels.
We move different people into the boundary. You move people to the field, you
kind of move those guys out of position. You have to let those guys go out there
and play. You have to give (Commodes Jacoby Brissett some credit too.
He made some plays, stepped up in the pocket a couple times, avoided the
rush, made a couple really good throws. We jammed the receiver really good
one time. I think it was (Commodes WR Terry) McLaurin, jammed him really
good and then he just got all spun out of business and he throws a pass up and
catches it.
I was really proud of the tackle at the one to go down there to get
those guys into that goal line situation for us to keep that thing fighting and
battling like we did in order to get that time to tick away. Would like to have kept
them out of the end zone there in that last fourth down, but we didn't.
Obviously, we did enough to win that game but you want to be in those
situations where you can win those games and be able to eliminate people
faster than we did.”

Kendrick is a very good player he makes mistakes just like anyone else but teams don't target him very much.

He’s better in zone coverage than he is in man. He’s a good tackler too. However he does not have good recovery speed and it shows sometimes. By now I’d think some of his mental errors, especially the penalties would have substantially diminished. They haven’t.

When I said save the generalities for someone else, I meant the part about him playing well and then people jumping on him after his last meltdown. I'm basically saying I always saw this guy as backup material from day one. I've constantly stated he's too damn slow and its shown up all season long. I'm simply asking you to not make it seem like I'm picking and choosing when to say he's not starter material. Can he get better, of course, but he's too slow to ever be a good starting DB since that makes him have to be damg near perfect in everything else to make up for it. The Rams would be wise to upgrade the CB position. Kendrick isn't the only one that needs to be improved upon. Our secondary depth isn't great and Morris is doing a good job of scheming this defense to hide their deficiencies.
Well...understand that what I said was not directly to you as much as it is to all who are jumping on DK. I said in another thread DK is deserving of some criticism. I expect the Saints to go after him tomorrow. It's on him to meet that challenge. He's not very fast but that doesn't mean he can't play well in the NFL. When it comes to DK i feel it's more what's going on on his head than his physical ability.. I believe only experience s going to help that. It may be he becomes a nickle corner than a starter. I've said earlier in the season that perhaps they should try Lake at corner over Kendrick. That week Lake got injured.

Not a bad suggestion trying those two at different positions. However I wonder if they are hesitant about it because of the little room for error that we currently have in the win-loss column. I'm not so sure that experience is going to help Kendrick not make mental errors since he seems to make the same ones over and over so far this season. I would be more understanding if they weren't the same bone-headed mistakes on rinse and repeat mode.

No, no. Just recent memory, I'd seen the film of the plays within the last year. It wasn't from 50 years ago!

Oh he gets targeted but he doesn't get abused routinely.

Not like we've never had a corner previously that spawned burnt toast memes and had a rep for penalties or fought with a teammate.

But hey...gotta whip somebody!

They will if he's starting. But they may go with Durant at the field corner over him. That happened a month ago, or a little more. If Spoon is healthy, and I assume he is. He'll be the boundary corner. But, if for some reason he cannot go, DK will be the boundary and Durant the field.

It may be he becomes a nickle corner than a starter. I've said earlier in the season that perhaps they should try Lake at corner over Kendrick. That week Lake got injured.
Kendrick does not seem like a nickel to me. Takes too much discipline but extra skills like blitzing. DK doesn't have that. Honestly don
think he could play inside and all the stuff those guys face===quick guys, tight ends ...

Durant may got back to nickel. He's been thee a lot this year before they moved Lake ... and this is a thought---Lake back to safety. It's not like Fuller is killing it back there.

Okay Kendrick haters. If he wasn't good enough to play every game McVay would bench him. I trust a winning super bowl coach over you guys any day. Sure he makes rookie boneheaded plays at times but if he sucked as bad as you guys are suggesting he wouldn't be on the field.

Kendricks isn't a rookie. He's not good. But we don't have better.

Based on the fact that the he started Bobby Evans multiple times last year? Zach Thomas at LT ring any bells?
