I watch Coop running his routes, and noticed that he has an instinct that cannot be taught. He can tell when his defenders feet create an opportunity to cross back and create an opportunity for separation. Every pro WR has that to some degree, but Cooper is the best at it. As soon as a DB commits, Cooper makes his counter move, like a good point guard doing a crossover dribble to get past his defender. I have called him the Larry Bird of football….not the most gifted player physically, but always found a way to get his shot off, and had quirky movements that threw his defender off. Coop has a similar skill set.
