Who's the link to?

His Father was one of the most respected coaches in the NFL I truly don't know why Schottenheimer keeps landing great gigs, but he has the name and Schotty must interview extremely well. IMO, I've seen not overwhelming results with the Jets, Rams & Bulldogs and now maybe just maybe he landed a gig that not even he can screw up, but I have a feeling Andrew Luck won't be as good anymore.

IMO hiring Scottenheimer to be any part of your offense would be like getting on an airplane with a Kennedy, just avoid it at all costs.

Thats not nepotism brother. If Shottenhiemer Sr was the HC then yes
Heck Shottenheimer senior wasnt even a well liked guy
To me, Shotty is a bright x's and o's guy, knows his stuff. Probably interviews really well. As we saw in St Lou, and what I saw in NY is he was great with his scripted plays, but isnt a great playcaller. Seems like he's a good fit for the spot he has.
Kinda like Norv Turner kept getting HC jobs because of his OC prowess. Reality is he sucked as HC and is in the right spot as OC
Maybe QB coach is his ceiling. So iy you're gonna be a QB coach, Luck ure is a good one

I still don't understand where the supposed nepotism comes into play...Of course I don't care, I just thinks it's kind of odd to come to that conclusion, especially since his dad has been away from the game for so long...

Schottenheimer was not the QB Coach for the Rams, he was the offensive coordinator so in essence you're communicating that Frank Cignetti did a better job under Schottenheimer's watch.

Well, I think your interpreting my words Den... that NEVER happens on a message board! ;) I do think that the offensive coordinator has way more influence on how a QB plays than the QB coach does in the NFL. The QB coach has a limited amount of influence and arguably even less once you get out of training camp.

And I'm legitimately making the case that Schottenheimer did more with less. Schotty was not great but damn was he better than what we had. I won't shy away from such a crappy statement just cause I don't want it to be true.

nep·o·tism
ˈnepəˌtizəm/
noun
  1. the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.
I learned something. I thought nepotism was strictly relatives.

(Have to go back and edit another post:palm:)

Luck is going to need a bunch of the luck his TV commercials talk about.

Colts offense will be fine with Chud coordinating it. Schotty will benefit, and get an OC job and then make another fan base miserable.

He's a terminal positional coach at best, too bad coaches will continue to take a chance on him due to his family name.

Well if you're blaming what happened at Georgia on Shottenheimer, that is silly
Colts HC amazingly kept his job, has a superstar in the making at QB and he's trustng in him to get Luck back to top level.
Like you said, this season will say a lot fer sure

I thought he was hired as OC, must have read it wrong. Yeah, as QB coach he will be ok I think, given Chud as the OC.

Congratulations Schotty, I didn't think it would be too long before he was back in the NFL - our O was slated because of him, in hindsight I don't think he was THE problem, but thats just my opinion.

What annoys me is that everyone else is doing the hiring again and we're not...
