Jeff Fisher was a much sought after HC candidate when hired by the Rams.

I remember the members of the old St Louie newspaper's board being thrilled we got him instead of Miami (the other main suitor).

That prehistoric offensive philosophy of his was painful to watch at times.
FWIW, Joe Philbin who Miami hired ended up lasting 3 years going 7-9, 8-8 &8-8 being fired in his 4th year staring out 1-3. Fisher was never 8-8 with the Rams. Also one of the coaches the Rams were about to interview before Jeff Fisher finally agreed to terms was current Saints Head Coach, who was the Broncos DC at the time Dennis Allen.

That leaves DC Morris as a finalist for the gig. Shane Steichen, Jeff Saturday, Rich Bisaccia & Aaron Glenn are also in contention for the job, making Morris one of the final five.

Holy shit will Irsay just pick a damn coach already lol

The Colts should just admit they're F-ing with everyone and reopen the process to add more HC candidates.

Congrats to Raheem for making the final seven.
Those names being crossed off leaves seven coaches whom Indianapolis has interviewed who haven't been ruled out yet: Colts special team coordinator Bubba Ventrone, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen, Kansas City City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Colts interim head coach Jeff Saturday, and Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

Kliff Kingsbury in Houston to interview for Texans staff

Former Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury has apparently returned from his one-way trip to Thailand.

According to multiple reports, Kingsbury is in Houston on Friday to discuss joining DeMeco Ryans’ staff with the Texans.

Kingsbury is presumably a candidate to be the club’s offensive coordinator. He called the offensive plays as Arizona’s head coach from 2019-2022.

The Cardinals fired Kingsbury after a 4-13 finish this season. In four years, Kingsbury compiled a 28-37-1 record. The club’s best offensive finish was in 2021, when the Cardinals were No. 8 in yards and No. 11 in points. The 2020 team was No. 6 in yards and No. 13 in points.

Before Arizona hired him, Kingsbury had a very brief stop at USC as the program’s offensive coordinator. That was after Texas Tech fired him following the 2018 season, as Kingsbury had compiled a 35-40 record as the program’s head coach.

Whoever Ryans chooses as his offensive coordinator with Houston will have a significant hand in developing whoever the Texans will presumably choose to be their quarterback with one of the top picks in this year’s draft.

Houston will reportedly hire one of Kingsbury’s former assistants, Matt Burke, as defensive coordinator. Burke served as the Cardinals’ defensive line coach in 2022.

I was excited to get Fisher. The main reason is that I gave him too much credit for his teams success. I thought he knew offense and how to build a good Oline. But his old OC and the running QB Steve McNair were responsible for offensive output, along with Munchaks Oline and a great RB. It’s almost as if Fisher trusted someone to run that side of the ball back then. For some reason y hat never happened in St. Louis. Fisher put the clamps on the offense. He even had good coordinators, back off after interviewing for the OC job. Aside from his defenses he was a huge disappointment.

Colts about to hire another young OC type so the owner can lose patience in him and fire him. Some things never change.
