I doubt it, couldn't see a player who was coached by Kirk Ferentz and now McVay not play in a big game because of his contract.
Hopefully it's not health related, or something tragic happening in his family.

Honestly, and not saying I care one way or other, but I don't think Blackburn is the kind of coach that is lax and teaching fundamentals. Rams players blew that. They had him...and were lazy... That's on the players.

I don't think Blackburn is teaching Evan to outkick coverage, either. He just does it too often.
And bad tackling? These are NFL guys ... they have to be able to do it.

If it's family related, maybe he wants to play lights out in honor of them? Still sucks though.
I think he out kicks coverage because he's in such a rush to punt. I feel like there's a lot of pressure most punts.

I was going to post the same thing, but then I thought about Tyrod running loose down the field at the end and said nope.
It's a serious problem right now for us, that back end. That and teams are going to be our downfall.
Which is part of the reason I’m leaning towards a contract thing because it was for “ personal reasons”

I’m open to it being a lack of personnel… but they just haven’t shown anything, imo.
They had a few coverage breakdowns, but they weren't terrible. We are just really talent limited on the back end more than anything else.

I think it's because he's still raw, has not learned to quite control his rare leg strength ... but I have not made a study of it. But I do see there is pressure. But I have been noting his outkicking coverage since preseason, so possible some of both ... but often pressure causes short kicks, not overly long, IMO. But what you are saying is worth a close study
the penalty on the FG looked like a designed play that didn't understand the rules.
The punt return was missed tackles... but when you have two punt return TDs in 4 games... the special teams coach is going to get scrutinized.
To be fair we tried like hell to give this game away. Staffords picks were bad, fumble, missed extra pts, lack of tackling on that punt return
