Via the Associated Press, Cardinals rookie receiver Damond Powell was wounded by gunfire outside his home in Toledo, Ohio on Friday evening.

According to the Toledo Blade, Powell was shot in the face. Three suspects were seen in a gold vehicle, wearing masks.

According to police, the undrafted free agent was in his driveway when shots were fired from a car. Police said the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Powell, a star high school football and basketball player at Rogers High School in Toledo, played college football at Iowa.

Best of luck to him in a speedy recovery. Never want to see anybody hurt especially in senseless violence like this.

It should be a legal requirement that once you reach the age of 5 you must carry at least 2 guns on you at all times (one assault rifle, one pistol incase you run out of bullets for your assault rifle), and once you reach the age of 10 you can carry as many as 5 grenades on you at any time.

At least it would end the problem of police shooting unarmed suspects.

seriously, the amount of stories we see of black people getting shot by the cops is horrifying. the one where some middle aged man that was pulled over and then was just running, no jogging, no it seemed slower than that, away and the police shot him 7 times in the back. seriously? then that poor woman who didn't indicate properly somehow ended up hanged in her cell? how did she even end up in a cell? some poor black guy was on the ground with a few cops on him, an older police officer took out his taser to shoot him instead took out his gun and shot him dead and was like ah dang, sorry.

i saw some black comedian doing a skit about getting pulled over, saying getting pulled over for a black person was never a routine occurrence, and as he was going through the routine i was laughing but at the same time was quite saddened as well.
