Howdy folks! Was a good day at TC. Big crowd, stands were full. Not a whole lot to report being only the second day. VFR got some good pics, Here's some notes I took.
Didn't see Havenstien or Stafford at all. Adams, Dotson, Avila and some of the other starters only participated in warmups and didn't
take any snaps. AJackson was out there warming up with OL guys. They did some 1st team O vs 2nd team D and vice versa. Garappolo was 1st team with Humphries and McClenden switching off at LT, McMahon and Dedich alternating at LG, Shelton at C, Acuri and Quessenberry at RG and Leviston, McClendon and Acuri taking turns at RT. Surprisingly, most of the time Jimmy had time to throw. Way harder to figure out who was starting on D. Verse, Fisk and Ford and then different guys subbing in for both 1st and 2nd team D. They're giving everyone a look it seems. Bennett looked OK and was mostly accurate, but did throw some clunkers. His OL was all 2nd tier, only Limmer at C didn't change. I'm guessing thery're getting a feel for where everyone is at skill wise at OL.

Tutu and Nacua looked real good, Ferguson got a lot of targets and I saw him look decent blocking on run plays. Mumpfield has good hands. Whittington played with 2nd team O. Kyrun Williams looked fast out there and so did Corum. Hunter caught a couple of screens, I'd like to see more of that.

Came away from TC feeling pretty good about this years team. Good intensity, coaches very involved. Hopefully VetRamFan and I will get to see them with pads on the 29th. Until then its really hard to tell who's doing good and who's not, especially on the D and O lines.

Marymount is not fan friendly. they have awning put up in front of the stands and its hard to see around. No walking around the field either, have to get everything from your seat.

Well anyway, it was fun, had a couple beers and shot the shit with folks in the stands. Hope to get more next Tues. Post some questions and I'll be up awhile and try to answer if you jog my memory.

Glad you guys made it! Enjoyed reading the report and seeing your pics.

Encouraged to hear that Aleric Jackson was out there doing some work.

Like hearing that Ferguson is getting a lot of targets and love hearing that he’s a capable blocker.

Don‘t like hearing they set up tents in front of the stands.

It's getting late here in So Cal so I thought I would give you all my impressions of todays activities. I have a lot of photos to edit and I'll post a link to my Google Photos when I'm done.

So just like last year, LMU campus is a nice campus but it is not great spot for fans to watch training camp. We are sitting in the sun, no shade but there is a cool ocean breeze most of the time. I miss the UCI experience. Lots of fans of course, all types of fans!

It was Vamos Rams day today so we got to hear mariachi music. The music group came in front of the stands prior to the players getting on the field and played some of their music for us. First song...get this...Crazy Train! I'm sure that was an ode to Ozzy.

Once the players started taking the field, the crowd would erupt into cheers for their favorite players. Kyren W., Byron Young, Puka (big cheers for him) but the biggest cheer went to V8, Jared Verse. Never did see M. Stafford.

The following comments won't be in any particular order, just from my memory:
K. Williams looks like he is in mid season form. Quick, decisive, holding onto the ball securely and if they had pads on he would not be afraid of contact.
Tutu was not participating on team drills, just standing on the sideline but he was playing during the 11 x 11 portion.
Stetson Bennet was throwing some really nice balls! This was during wide receiver's running deep routes with no defense.
Dresser Winn was dressed but I don't recall seeing him in any scrimmage action.
Jimmy G. looks the same. Glad we resigned him, he's a solid backup.
Reeder was playing MLB and had the green dot on the helmet.
S. Dolac was also playing the MLB and green dot guy. That could be something to watch as camp progresses.
Ferguson is a big target with some good hands. I can see big things from him this season.
The other LB's we are interested in, Pooh Paul Jr and Stewart did not seem to show much but I could be wrong. It's hard to watch everybody.
Blake Corum is freaky fast! He broke a run off the left side and smoked all the DB's.
Tony Fields II (remember I talked with his father before camp) was getting a lot of snaps but he seemed to be sort of a hybrid LB/Safety. I'll have to pay closer attention to that.

That's all I can recall at this moment. @bubbaramfan and I had a good time and it great catching up with all our own off season activities. So till next time (which is next Tuesday), remember if you aren't having fun, you're doing it wrong!

Veteran Ram Fan

Sounds like KW is really dialed in.

Getting more and more encouraged about our first pick Ferguson!

The Stetsman!!!

I’m excited for Pooh Paul too, his college tape just blew me away. Hope he can live up to it.

Thanks for the reports!

Reeder was playing MLB
So glad he switched to baseball. Football wasn’t his sport.
Dresser Winn was dressed

I see what you did there

Stetson Bennet was throwing some really nice balls!
That’s good to see. He seems focused and I’m all for second chances!

Blake Corum is freaky fast!
Wow. Something tells me he is going to show what he’s made of this year, and be the guy he was at Michigan. We are loaded at RB

Thanks for the great report. Have fun out there!

AJackson was out there warming up with OL guys
May seem like nothing , but just the fact he is in camp and able
warm up with oline is welcome news to me.
Hopefully right medication and diet will get our big dog
ready to go , before opener.

So Grateful for You , VeteranRamFan and any other ROD members
giving us updates and goings on at camp.
Every year I look forward to our ROD reporters.
Such a great read!
