Clark was a monster last night... and it took all she had to hold off that LSU squad.

Everyone gets caught up in her amazing long range shooting because it's Steph-Like... but her passing is damn near as amazing to me. If not for a few bad decisions on her passing I would say it's more impressive than her shooting... but she did attempt some bone headed passes.

I enjoyed watching that game. Because the women play at a slower pace, the refs are able to call a much cleaner game and that is very satisfying for me with my b-ball ref'ing background. They weren't perfect, but it was basically clean.

That coo coo LSU coach should have been given T's for her antics during play. She is a fucking cheater. During play, especially when LSU was trying to defend fast breaks, she would have her feet on the court (inbounds) and try to interfere with the Iowa players. She would even wave her arms to interfere with the Iowa players as if she was literally out on the court playing for LSU. I've noticed this BS by other woman's coaches too and it needs to be eliminated. It is completely fucked up and unacceptable.

I went to one of my niece's B-Ball games recently during a big time tournament for top girls from around the country and I saw a coach doing even worse with interfering with game play. This guy was huge too (300+ pounds) and he would come way out onto the court during play. It was blatant and the refs weren't stopping it. I normally say nothing if I'm in the stands watching family play... that's one of my personal rules for myself, but I finally had to scream out to the ref something to the effect of "Hey, that's a moving screen by the giant male HC ref... how can you not call that?". Little did I know most of the crowd was thinking it too, so when I said it the crowd jumped in too. My comment to the ref was loud and clear as if it came over the PA system lol. The ref then called a Technical on that coach and then later in the game ejected that coach for doing more of the on court interfering. That LSU coach was just given a pass last night and that was very wrong. This is a real problem in the woman's game. Obviously some coaches are getting away with this BS and it is fucking BS.

McCaffrey played 6 years at Iowa, 5 full seasons, And Clark scored more points in her Freshman year alone than he did for his entire career. Ouch
I'm thinking she holds the car door open for him

That's hilarious.

McCaffrey now has a job working for the Indiana Pacers. And guess who has the #1 pick in the WNBA draft this yr??? It's the WNBA team from Indiana. Talk about having things work out conveniently for those 2... that's some crazy good luck.

Sad part for Caitlin is that she made more money this season with her NIL deal than she will ever make in a year from her WNBA team. WNBA players don't make very much from their player salaries.

most that NIL money will follow her to the WNBA

her WNBA contract won't be anything compared to what she'll make in endorsements

she already has deals with State Farm, Nike, Bose , Buick, H&R Block, Gatorade , HyVee and Gainbridge , to name a few

I see that Angel Reese has entered the WNBA draft as well , so you know the WNBA will market the crap out of that

the same way the NCAA marketed the hell out of this huge Iowa vs LSU rivalry , even though they had only played each other once before , but I guess thats what they consider a huge rivalry now-a-days
, and you know , the WNBA will continue that , Clark vs Reese rivalry , not that I blame them

The NBA plays literally no defense any more, I think Clark could play with the men. Her range is legit, but it's how fast she gets her shot off that makes me think it could actually work.
Wont happen, which is a shame.
Plus, like @Selassie I said, she makes passes that absolutely make your head spin

I was just going to comment on this same thing. Was wondering if she could have a role on a NBA team. She can shoot from anywhere with ease and with today's pussified NBA you might as well add some actual p***y to it. NBA might actually get people to watch their games again.

Bruddas... she is absolutely a freak/generational talent... but...

I'm gonna say it like it is... even though today's climate for truth/facts is terrible and many people want to turn truths into agendas. It seems like I am always the person who is too willing to open my mouth when it comes to sensitive topics that really shouldn't be sensitive at all. So here I go again.

There is just no way in hell that Caitlin Clark could be effective playing against NBA players. She is one of the best women's B-Ball players I have ever seen... but most human beings (men or women) just wouldn't be able to compete on a basketball court full of NBA players. There is such a tiny percentage of D1 men's B-Ball players that are able to make it into the NBA that it's mind blowing. I believe that it is less than 1%.

NBA players are so far above other human beings in B-Ball talent that they should almost be considered a separate species from all other humans. It's literally like they are super human. I witnessed this up close and personal when I started refing NBA Summer League games here in Orlando years ago. It's very hard to describe, but it's almost frightening when you get to see the jump in talent level from D1 men's players to NBA players. Even the last players on the bench on every NBA team are light years ahead of some of the best D1 players. Honestly, NBA players should be much more recognized for just HOW gifted they truly are. 99%+ of humanity cannot compete on the basketball court with NBA players in a meaningful way.

I realize some will feel I'm just being sexist when I add this, but they shouldn't. Caitlin would definitely put a beating on most guys on a B-Ball court... but not most D1 men's players. I hate to say it this bluntly, but she wouldn't be able to make a D1 level team even with her generational talent. The games are THAT MUCH different. Sure she could drain some 3's on anyone... but not with the regularity you see her doing against other women.

I'm confident in saying this because of another personal experience of mine. Another one of the greatest women's B-Ball players ever went to the same HS as I did. We were in the same grade and I watched her dominate like a beast. Back in those days our HS B-Ball coach would make us (I played HS B-Ball) go to many of the girls games for support. I watched this freak... Bridgette Gordon... basically single handedly bring home the State Championship to our school. Every single college in the country recruited her hard... but she of course went to play for Pat Summit at Tennessee where she won National Championships. She also won Olympic golds for our country. There was no WNBA back then, but she played professionally in Europe and there are fricking statues of her standing over there today in front of some of the team's arenas she played for.

Back in HS I used to practice against her sometimes because she asked me to. I wasn't the greatest player, but I didn't suck. I did receive 1 offer from a D1 school to play B-Ball. That school (Stetson) made it into the tournament this year for the 1st time in their history lol (16 seed). So I had some game. When I practiced against her I could make her completely human on the court... we're both 6'2"... but when she played against any woman she might as well have been Aaron Donald playing against a middle schooler. The men and women's B-BALL games are just not on the same levels.

Sorry for the novel, but I wanted to try and explain this the best way that I could without it diminishing, or taking away from, the true greatness of Caitlin. I love watching her play... and I cannot say that about many women B-Ball players. I sometimes enjoy watching a women's B-Ball game, but I fucking LOVE watching Caitlin play. Huge difference. There just cannot be enough great things said about her B-Ball skills... but that still doesn't mean she can compete with NBA players and that is damn sure not a slight on her.

But yeah you are probably right, but I would enjoy someone giving it a shot.

Given that Sabrina Ionescu came close to beating Curry in the three-point contest - and she was shooting from the exact range the men were - I feel that Caitlin could easily compete in a three-point contest against men.

But if we're talking about freakish athletes like Giannis and Wemby...well, there's just no contest - and I'm a woman.

Just to be clear my last two posts had some tongue in cheek, sarcastic comments/gifs to them to be funny and not to be serious. All though I would be interested in seeing how someone like Clark could do in the NBA as a perimeter shooting guard or whatever it obviously isn't going to happen. It's just one of those fun ideas to ponder.

Wemby going to go the same route Manute Bol went.. flame out of the league after 5 or 6 years because his knees can't take the abuse

Highly doubt it. He's so thin and his frame is so long that he's not putting too much weight on his knees. He's a lot like a taller Giannis who can shoot threes. Complete unicorn.

Wemby is actually 7'5". He's got the frame to handle more. Bol didn't.
