EARTH CITY, Mo. -- Bud Sasser will be a member of the St. Louis Rams organization after all.

The Rams announced Tuesday that they've hired their 2015 sixth-round pick -- but not for the job they originally selected him for in May. The former wide receiver, who was unable to pass a physical to play because of a pre-existing heart condition, has taken a job as the team's new external football affairs coordinator.

In his new role, Sasser will work with alumni, youth football and other aspects of community outreach. He visited with the team early in training camp to learn about possible job opportunities before the team made his addition official Tuesday afternoon.

Sasser played at Missouri, where he had 77 catches for 1,003 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2014.

Despite Sasser's inability to get clearance to play, the team signed him to a contract that paid him a signing bonus of more than $113,000 before releasing him with the non-football related illness designation.

The Rams might often be viewed as a dirty team but when you put aside the above average physicality on the field, this organization is nothing but class. Hate that the media paints it all one way.

Or do they.

I'd assume so, unless there's been a major development since the last time I could be bothered to read the 10,000+ post thread on Stan's intentions to fuck St. Louis, which admittedly was a couple of weeks ago so...

ESPN Rams reporter Nick Wagoner discusses the organization’s decision to hire draft pick Bud Sasser as the team’s external football affairs coordinator. Sasser had been ruled ineligible to play due to a pre-existing heart condition.

YAH! We don't want to see him fired, like George Allen was, for losing 4 pre season games!!
