Wow, Canales?
Always a surprise or two.
Alas, there will be 5-8 openings next year too, happens every year
I think its a forgone conclusion that Washington is waiting on Detroit to finish before they can name Johnson.
Wonder what the holdup is in Atlanta? Seattle?
Word on ATL is the interest in Bill is cooling but not gone. Slowik and Morris considered strong contenders. If Slowik does well in his second interview, I suspect it's his given what he did with that offense and QB.

Seattle really seems like they're making this a methodical process.

Detroits continued run certainly plays a role in all this for sure.

Sounds like consensus was Canales was maybe a year away but no one wanted to work for Tepper or under the conditions he wanted to set. Believe there was a lot of familiarity between Morgan the GM and Canales from Seattle.

I really thought Morris was a slam dunk for the Atlanta gig. I do wonder about Belichick and maybe the owners think he's as much of a dickwad as we do? On the other hand, I also wonder if BB wants to see how things play out in NY, even sitting out this year to do it

What’s the over/under on Canales coaching tenure with the Panthers? 10 games?

Hahaha, if that happened, Panthers would be so toxic, the only coach they could get would be Jim Mora.

Dudes really got his work cut out for him but was pleasantly surprised of what he could do with Baker. This might have been one of the best versions we've seen of him other than his top season in Cleveland. I think he regresses next season without Canales. If he can keep Evero on the staff and get some oline talent and two more weapons on offense, I think there's a chance for both him and Bryce.

I’m rooting for Canales to do well - but damn that organisation seems toxic as fuck

Sometimes I wish some of these coaches would just tell the owners to back the fuck off and let me do my job. The Teppers and Jerry Jones of the league.

It's gotta be something to get hired on and expected to magically turn things around while you have to bootlick the idiot owner.

Nothing says job security for a HC like when they take the job and then be told that the owner is keeping the DC, OC & ST coord whether they like it or not

Hey them owners gave them contracts. And every year there's fired coaches that get paid millions for doing nothing. Tepper looks like a big time dumbass after going through Matt Rhule and Frank Reich and now this Caneles fellow.

Wow shocked as Dave Canales had only one year as an OC and before that nobody had heard of him, very similar to Brandon Staley.

However, new Panther GM Dan Morgan knows him well and they are hoping Canales can develop the tiny dancer in Bryce Young. Good Luck.
Yep, I am shocked as well...and I'm related to the guy! I have a very big extended Family, and he is the Son of my cousin. A wonderful Family. I am happy for him, hoping those shoes will fit.

Probably happens plenty. Like right before some of these guys get fired. :laugh3:

But I'm with you. Though in a way if you go work for one of those clowns you get what you deserve.

He did….in the last 2 years he benefited from Geno’s unexpectedly good year as the QB coach for the Hawks, and this year he has benefited from Baker’s good year. I got to see his older brother play A ball for the Dodgers early 2000’s. He’s walking into a fairly depleted situation, so I’m holding my breath a little for him.
