Go ahead and hire Steve Spagnuolo as your head coach and explain to your fan base that you just hired a guy with a career HC Record of 11-41. Spags is where he should be and the Raiders need to focus on someone that can energize that base IMHO.

2 of those 3 years under Spags were extremely tough to watch

1-15
7-9
2-14

That 5 year run with Spags and the other coach were the worst 5 seasons ever until Cleveland broke it a few years ago.

That first game against Philadelphia in 2008 (not Spag) I had to laugh how bad the Rams were when twice the safeties ran into each other giving up a long 90 yard TD pass. And I swear there was another play when the Rams safeties ran into each other in that game.

Its frustrating to lose coaches every year, but at the same time it speaks volumes about how good McVay really is. McVay just keeps winning with new coaches. It seems like almost every week the Rams face a team with a coach that was once a Rams coach under McVay.
Dude ? WTF - he is talking about scouting & GM’s. Look at what Detroit has done with Goff & Holmes. The good thing is with Holmes & Morris there were draft picks in The Rams favor.
— what coaches are The Rams going to loss this year ??

Mcvay addressed and didn’t seem to worried, but new roots are not always a bad thing.Don’t know your thoughts on Phillips,Stayley,Morris ?

Whose side are you on?
They had a lotta success against the Rams while he was there.
Not saying I want the Niners to bring-back Saleh. Just think it makes sense.

I would prefer they hire one of these guys ...

Bandwagons are interesting. I've purposely never picked a title winning team to start rooting for. If I did I would be a Steelers fan, a Reds fan, and a Celtic fan when I first jumped on my sports teams in 1976-1977. Sure I looked at record, success and a favorite player or 3 but there wasn't a sure outcome. Whiner fans though were so scarce pre 1981 and then suddenly 10s of thousands came out late in the 1981 season. I just laugh at any whiner fan who reveals those origins.
What do ya mean? I was a Steve DeBerg fan! ~Niner Fan

If Vrabel is all that and a bag of chips, why didnt the Pats just hire him last off season instead of going thru the charade of having Mayo for a year?

It's been said, Mayo was the in-house, hand picked replacement for BB. I'd submit maybe Kraft is a bit more frugal than he's described.
I'm with the theory, you need a good offensive head coach for a young QB or at least a talented OC. But the talented OC will be gone in a year or two, while the offensive head coach will be under contract for longer.

Kraft had already decided on Mayo being the heir apparent so regardless of who was available they were moving on from Belichick and Kraft had already identified the individual he felt could move them forward. I will give Kraft credit on realizing his mistake because if they do hire Vrabel and McDaniels joins him as OC that will already be an upgrade from Mayo IMHO.

Still doesnt add up. If a better candidate became available they didnt have to honor some pat on the back agreement

If Kraft decided on Mayo, he surely would have wanted to back him.
Mayo did a fine job with what he had to work with
I'm thinking its a Brian Flores/Miami thing, they wanted him to lose the last game for draft purposes and he wouldnt tank
