Better Rams #1 overall pick: Bradford or Goff

I've been a Rams homer for way too long. Always hoping/expecting that Rams moves would pan out.

I've been wondering who I thought was a better first overall pick (at the time), Bradford or Goff.
Both times, there was a clear debate between option one and 2- Bradford or Suh - Goff or Wentz.

Now that it is clear, that both did not work out, it's a good time for me to reflect.

I thought Goff was the better pick. I saw Goff as a pure pocket passer who could ad lib, better than Wentz, and I was glad that the Rams went that way versus Wentz.
At the time, I was not sure between Suh and Bradford, and had little to do with Bradford injury history, but rather that Suh had the chance to be dominant. Still hoped that Bradford would excel.

What say you.

Bradford was like a Cousins who couldn't stay healthy.

Now if you'd ask which #1 has had the most blessed career moneywise... I'd say Bradford. Dude kept walking into big contracts. Goff will eventually earn more, but woof, did Bradford "Forrest Gump" his way to big paydays...

Goff had much more success than Bradford, but I think Sam was the man (at first anyway). There were a few games, usually in the beginning of the season, where Bradford and Steven Jackson and the Rams looked like world-beaters. Sam had a great arm, and I don't think that Jeff Fisher's teams ever allowed him to develop... instead preferring Bradford to throw short passes and not turn the ball over. And Bradford's line and receivers sucked anyway, and then he got hurt two years in a row! That man was snake bit, big-time. except for the 100 million dollars that he made in 10 years, however. lol

As a prospect, Bradford hands down. Sam had physical tools that Goff could only dream of.
As a player? Sam cant carry Bradford's jock

Disagree on Goff being the better prospect; as someone who watched them both, Bradford had almost everything we could've asked for, except for durability. But Goff was easily the better player.

Goff's arm is every bit as good as Bradford's was. They were similar in terms of size and accuracy. Goff showed far more ability to play under duress and to elevate limited talent around him. He also was quicker through his progressions. Plus, Bradford was coming off a season-ending injury. Durability is so important. I'd take Goff the prospect without thinking twice.

Thought that Bradford's arm was potentially top-of-the-scale elite with the ability to make throws most QBs wouldn't have dared throw. Goff's arm is elite, but very few matched Bradford's strength and accuracy, even when Bradford was rushed or mobile. Goff did show more being on a bad Cal team, but Bradford was also quick through progressions. You know me, though; I love seeing athletic freaks. I'd still have taken Bradford, but I wouldn't have said "no" to Goff.

Serious question: was Gurley better than Dickerson, since Gurley led us to a Super Bowl as our best offensive player?

It's an interesting question.

Ironically, many of the people who cited that Bradfords lack of winning wasn't his fault, cite that Goff should get credit for winning. Every situation is different but that doesn't quite add up and one reason why QB winzzzz makes no sense.

Have to go with Goff because of availability.

But a healthy prime Sam Bradford probably has similar success to Goff.

Dickerson has the single best season ever for a running back. Gurley was good but I wouldn't even have him top 2 with ED and Faulk there.

IMO Gurley had a better peak Jackson was sustained greatness never injured.
