Oh the humantity......Giants break out the brooms on my Blue Crew. Sheesh

My room mate is a Giants fan...think I'm gonna go get a hotel for 5 or 6 weeks just to avoid him.
Just like last year the bull pen is brutal.

How bout them Yankees (now tied for 1st)? Go into Detroit to play the 10-2 Tigers and take 3 of 4. Give up 9 runs and hold Miggie to a 2 for 13 series. And that bullpen. Everybody throws 95+ and Betances/Miller are rounding into form. Anybody see the weak swings Gose and Kinsler had Wednesday night again big Dellin? After starting 1-4 and averaging a shade over 3 runs per game, they've gone 8-3 averaging more than 6 runs per game. It's early and 9-7 isn't exactly great but it projects to 90+ wins and it's a lot better than being 7-9 or 7-10 right now. Next up, that other first place NY team. Hopefully, they'll acquit themselves well. Pineda, CC and Eovaldi vs deGrom, Harvey and Niese.

We're kinda fucked without Wainwright. Seems like he's gonna be gone the rest of the season.

Hopefully Marco Gonzales is ready to step up and take a huge role. If he doesn't, we've already lost. Our pitching is what's keeping us alive, and we just lost one of the best.

Martinez, Lynn, and Wacha also have to keep up what they're doing. I have little-to-no faith in Lackey.

Don't be surprised to see a couple other pitchers like Cooney be called up. I hope to fucking hell that Lyons or Petrick aren't called up to take that starting role. They're both beyond terrible.

Lyons is awful. Will look good for a start or two, then teams figure him out again and he gets rocked.

Zero faith in Garcia. Never stays healthy. Marco is a worry b/c of that shoulder and the fact I don't think he can shoulder an entire season's worth of starts.

And none of our other top pitching prospects are near ready to be called up.

We probably try and address it internally for awhile, but I have a feeling Mo may be forced into a trade. If not now, then surely by the ASB.

Ah, McCarthy. I've always liked the guy. He went through a lot to get to where he is today. Hyun-jin Ryu and Kershaw are also favorites of mine. I'll never like Greinke, but I can admit that he's talented.

I like a couple of your players as well. Yasmani Grandal will have a chance to shine with you guys. I'm a fan of Crawford, Pederson, Van Slyke, Kendrick, and Rollins; I honestly think that you guys got better without Hanley and Dee.

Can't stand Gonzalez or Puig, though, but hey, there's even some Cardinals I can't stand at the moment (coughChoatecough).
I love Greinke. He's just a great baseball player.
His defense and hitting are top notch for a pitcher. He makes everything look easy.

Lyons hasn't won anything since he first got called up. He's lost every game he's pitched in since his first four wins in a row.

No faith in Garcia either, and I don't think Mo has any either. Gonzales may not be the ideal option, but he's the best one.

Agreed with the third and fourth paragraphs. Reyes, Kaminsky, Flaherty, Williams, all of them aren't even close to ready yet. I would absolutely hate to be forced into a trade, but it looks like there's no choice in the matter. Reyes, Gonzales, Kaminsky, Flaherty, Sierra, Sosa, and Kelly are pretty much untouchable in my eyes. Everyone else is worth dealing from the prospect ranks.

I hope that we address this internally because I'm officially in panic mode. Without Wainwright, we've just lost an ace for the rest of the season. Molina could go on the DL.

Praying that Matuella, Aiken, or Hooper fall to us in the draft and that we can get Orimoloye with our supplemental first. We need an ace. We need power.

We can win without Waino, but damn! That's tough, if he's lost for the season.

Grr!

Max Scherzer is saying that the National League should adopt the DH because of several reasons (searching for offense, fans not wanting to see pitchers hit, helps position players by rotating a DH). And you know what? After Waino's injury, I have to completely agree with him. Because that's why he's saying that. What pitchers can actually hit or bunt nowadays? Waino, Greinke, Bumgarner...and that's pretty much it.

Time for the NL to do what everyone else is doing from the American League, to college, to high school, to the Little Leagues: adopt the designated hitter.

Time for a minor baseball draft, since it's only a month away and all. I'm not going to pick all of the rounds, of course, but we have five picks in the first 105 selections, so might as well get to it:

#23 overall - Michael Matuella, RHP, Duke, [6'7", 220 lbs.]. He's been nicked up by injuries, including Tommy John surgery this year, which is why he falls so far. He's a dominant pitcher who has four plus pitches (fastball, slider, curveball, and changeup) and plus control when healthy, and after surgery, he's projected to make his way to the Majors quickly.

#39 overall - Demi Oromiloye, OF, St. Matthews HS (Ontario, Canada), [6'4", 225 lbs.]. Raw as hell, but I'd absolutely love to see what he can do with the Cardinals. He's committed to Oregon, but a solid signing bonus could lure him away. He looks like a young Giancarlo Stanton with less power and more speed. He has plus tools, he just needs to learn how to harness them. I picture him in left field when Holliday moves on.

#66 overall - Andrew Suarez, LHP, Miami, [6'2", 205 lbs.]. A talented left-hander who has struggled with injuries, he has all above-average offerings (fastball, curveball, slider, changeup) with above average control. Another quick mover through the system.

#100 overall - Antonio Santillan, RHP, Seguin HS (Texas), [6'3", 240 lbs]. Poor control and command, but he has an electric arm that fires 98 mph fastballs and legit 12-6 curveballs from a huge frame (6'3", 240 lbs). Worth a shot, and even if he doesn't make the rotation, which he could eventually, bullpen arms that hit 98 are always in high demand.

#105 overall - Wesley Rodriguez, RHP, George Washington Carver HS (New York), [5'11", 205 lbs.]. Scouts worry about his command and body type (which one scout said reminds him of Bartolo Colon). I look in wonder at 98 mph fastballs with movement, and a potential plus slider.

Main International Signing: Fernando Tatis Jr., SS, San Pedro, Belize, [6'1", 175 lbs.]. You know his father. Well, his son could be even better. He has off-the-charts makeup, can play multiple positions, and he just looks like a baseball player. Hoping that the Cardinals look at him.

Mitch Harris, the Navy graduate and awesome relief pitcher, is the first Navy pitcher to ever record a win in the big leagues in the history of the MLB. Congratulations, Mitch! You deserve this win. And while your story is amazing, your prowess as a pitcher is even more so.

It's not real baseball with the DH.
It's thoughtless and lame. Make the manager work and scheme.
The DH? Please
Lets move the fences in to 200 feet and change it to slow pitch too. How exciting (blue font).

And when Kershaw injures himself for the entire season swinging the bat, what then?

Haha.
Well that will certainly suck for my Dodgers (who are destined to be knocked out by the Cards again....grrrr) but the game shouldn't be changed in my opinion. It's a better game with the pitcher hitting....just my opinion of course.

hahahah. I think Kershaw is just shellshocked. Taken to the cleaners by the Cards one too many times in the postseason.

No, don't let Donnie coach them out of a win in the playoffs.
