Alright Ram Brothers. My 8 year old Son has become a die hard fan these past few years and everything in his life is Rams!! I just purchased 2 tickets for the game against the Cardinals on 10/18. I use to live in Gilroy, Ca and have been a California Native for 48 years but uprooted our family and escaped to Idaho in 2020. Just reaching out for info on attending a game at SoFi. Is it better to fly in the day of the game or the day before. If we left at 5am from Boise. We would arrive at LAX around 10am. I know the airport isn’t too far from the stadium. Should we come in Saturday instead and fly back after the game later that night? What hotel should we use out there if we decide to come a day earlier? What time does the stadium start to let people in on game day? I want him to experience everything as a young fan. I even want him to experience all the Ram fans at the tailgate as well. His mind is gonna be blown to see all the other Ram fans that day. A reason why I picked the Cards game over every other game. Thanks for any info in advance. We are in section 345 and was wondering how the views were of the game as well. Appreciate you all and see you at the game

Fly in the night before, will be less rushed.

Hotel-- that really depends on your budget. Any hotel near LAX will do, just depends on your preference and budget. Ive stayed at the H and Homewood, very nice, good pool, etc.

Get to the game early I believe its 90 minutes prior for gates opening, may be more, im sure others will chime in. Make sure to hit the Equipment room, they have stuff you cant find online.

Thats middle of MLB playoffs, catch the Dodgers on that Saturday if your a baseball fan.

Enjoy it!

Thank you!! I’ve decided to fly out Saturday and leave Sunday evening. Thanks for the info

You will enjoy it. We flew out to catch the Detroit game last year. It was very cool. We stayed near Venice Beach. Stayed out a few days, left Wednesday morning. Drove around Malibu, went up to the Hollywood Hills to the observatory, and drive around Beverly Hills and caught a comedy show. Obviously you can't catch a comedy show with an 8 yr old, but if you do decide to stay an extra day or two, there are things to check out.

I will add, outside of those rich areas, I wasn't impressed with the city's cleanliness and overall vibe. I mean, when we were waiting for the shuttle from the car rental to the airport, a heroine addict was digging through the trash, with a knife, cutting off paper bag twine handles. Apparently using them to tie off his arm so he can shoot up. Was not really thrilled standing that close to half stoned junkie with a blade.

So just be aware of your surroundings.

Never been.
will be on the list for this year for sure!!
Come in the night before I would. We stay at the LAX Marriott, which has a sports bar there and fans gather. Lot of Rams fans from round the country stay there. One piece of advice - from most of the LAX hotels there is a ‘luxury shuttle’. $40 per person but takes out all the stress/aggro about getting to and from the stadium. Worth every penny.

We did the park and ride but I would have done that shuttle you’re talking about. But that would have eliminated the stop at Woody’s so maybe not.

The park and ride was pretty simple. I think it was $20 per person.

My only concern flying out after the game would be getting to the airport in time. It can be hell getting out of the stadium. And, you have to allow for time to arrive before the flight leaves...isn't that 2 hours before flight time now? Anyone, that would be my concern...having enough time to get out of the stadium and to the airport to catch the flight home.

Just need to catch a redeye out of there. Like a 9 pm or later flight

Agreed. If there is a redeye flight available. I fly in from Phoenix for games. My problem is there never seems to be a flight back to Phoenix on Sunday game day late enough for me to want to risk it. Most flights back for me seem to be the last leaves at 9pm or maybe into 10pm at the latest.

But, say the game ends at 5pm and I have to be at the airport 2 hours before the flight, that's only 3 hours time to get to the airport.

I've been to scared to try it and miss a flight home, so I have always stayed over and flown home Monday morning.

Have you tried Burbank Airport?

Been to a couple of games (from Portland).
After the game ends, there is just you and 70,000 of your closest friends all trying to get an uber, taxi or rental car to somewhere... it's basically, zoo-ish, IMO.

Thanks for all the feedback back bros!! Can’t wait to see a game again. Most of my attended games were either at the stick or Santa Clara in enemy territory. Been to a couple in The Lou but haven’t seen a game in SoCal since the Anaheim days
