I shouldn’t laugh as you might turn out to be correct!Making room for our top draft pick to be used on a WR
There is a rumor (discussed on Cowherd today) that Rams FO was reluctant to pay the premium for AR last year but Stafford and Kupp lobbied very hard for him and they gave in.Don’t understand the logic here. Stafford missed camp, the Oline was recasted with injuries, Stafford got beat down and didn’t have time to throw. But Arob didn’t develop chemistry.
Owners need to do a better job at setting the cap system up. This kind of move is just stupid.
I remember the talk that those two pushed for him in which makes it even stranger that Stafford didn't utilize him more. There is a rumor (discussed on Cowherd today) that Rams FO was reluctant to pay the premium for AR last year but Stafford and Kupp lobbied very hard for him and they gave in.
All the more baffling that McVay and Stafford didn't use him more. Also disagree largely with that thought. If this were the case the #@ WR everywhere would put up #1 numbers.could be that the defense ignored AR because the rams did the same and shifted resources to cover kupp. why cover a player when he isnt being targeted.
I also hear that the FO is discussing a restructure with Stafford. Maybe there a bit of (moral) leverage at play here.I remember the talk that those two pushed for him in which makes it even stranger that Stafford didn't utilize him more.
The players have no power to set these standards. There isn’t one of them who would be against getting more of the money the league takes in.It's a CBA there are two sides to it. Players/Union just as much need to do things differently.
Yes it was reported and confirmed by Kupp they wanted him on the team. I doubt that has changed. There is a rumor (discussed on Cowherd today) that Rams FO was reluctant to pay the premium for AR last year but Stafford and Kupp lobbied very hard for him and they gave in.
The salary cap is part of the CBA that the players have to sign off on. They have every bit of input on this as the owners and if they really wanted a change they just have to ask for it and bargain for it. Don't act like the owners are the only ones who have a say in how the money is spent. The players have no power to set these standards. I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess you’ve never been a part of negotiating a contract. The salary cap is part of the CBA that the players have to sign off on. Who hasn't been misused by Morris? It makes no sense to cut Floyd. He has been misused by Morris who often drops him into coverage instead of pass rushing.
If you are going to cut Floyd next year makes more sense. They only clear a little over $2M cap. Next year they clear about $12M. I don't understand where all these rumors are coming from. The problem is Morris and his uber soft zone scheme that even makes AD look bad.
I've negotiated and signed many contracts actually.I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess you’ve never been a part of negotiating a contract.
The owners have all the power when it comes to the money. The only thing players can do is strike. They have limited years to play this game. The owners can and have brought in scabs to play.
They can wait it out and it isn’t going to destroy their fortunes. They didn’t get rich because they own NFL franchises.
