Are the 49ers going to be our biggest threat in the coming years ?

Garrapollo is a FA after this season..........Lynch is unproven as a GM and hasn't looked all that great..........Shanahan falls into the same category, unproven and hasn't looked all that good.

4 wins against the Bears, Giants, Titans and Texans and now they are a threat to the Rams?

Please those 4 teams can lose to anyone on any Sunday. Those are FAR from quality wins and were close games.

The 49ers are below average and look to stay that way for awhile.

The NFCW may be a cakewalk for the Rams in the coming years.
My Biggest fear is after we lock-up the Division Title, and the Playoffs, this week-end. The Rams will be resting players the Final game of the Season against the 9ers, and the Winner's get Lucky, and pull out a Win!
This would ruin the Season for me! ( Almost!)

The Final game of the Season is a "Throw-Back" game, and I want the Rams to Beat the 9ers Back into the Stone-ages! 52-0!!!

Don't sleep on Arizona when David Johnson comes back next year. SF is not far away at all IMO. If they had one go to WR, they would be dangerous with Jimmy G.
Remember, injuries can change everything any week. You have to constantly reload your depth and fringe roster guys.

Garoppolo will be resigned Im sure.
He is good with room to improve. Dude can sling it. They have secured the most difficult position in sports to fill at a high level. I find that disgusting.

They haven't secured anything, he's a free agent, and if there is one thing we know it's that QB contracts in free agency are out of whack and teams will overpay if they only need a QB to "get in the mix". Cousins will likely set the market with Garrapollo right behind him.

AZ, DEN, NYG, NYJ, BUF, DEN and who knows who else, possibly INDY will be in the hunt this offseason. I'm betting the Giants and Broncos dangle big coin to lure a FA QB. I can see those two teams offering the biggest QB contract ever to get Cousins.

There is no assurance he resigns with the 49ers. They can franchise him but that's a big check to write for a couple of years.

It's going to be interesting to see which teams will gamble on a rookie for the future and which teams will go get Cousins, Garrapollo, and all the rest of the big name free agents.

I'd love to see us beat them down. But we got bigger fish to fry. If the way it plays out we don't have anything to play for by then, the prudent choice would be to rest the starters. Especially if they have nagging injuries that could slow them down.

I agree. It would have been well worth it to figure out a way to franchise Garoppolo next year. One day Brady just wont have it anymore, it happens. It happened to Manning and Favre, one day great, the next not so much
still a franchise player can get signed away for two 1sts.... so sure thst is better than trading him for a,2nd, but what if Buffalo signs him with all their picks.. or the Jets?
One of the talking heads, I think Peter King on a local radio spot, was mentioning that the Pats likely chose to trade him somewhere he would be happy and re-sign so he could not comeback to the AFC and especially the AFC East.

Well if they use the exclusive tag I don’t think he can sign elsewhere

As long as the Seahawks have Wilson, they'll be a threat.... but the 49ers are absolutely our biggest threat moving forward. Jimmy G playing good ball, and I believe they'll be a real good team in the next couple years.

A couple of years is just long enough for Shanahans's personality to blow up everything and get the whole staff fired.

I have a gut feeling Jimmy G will end up back in Gillette Stadium next year.

Don't ask me why tho

Could be. Garrappalo looks like the real deal, and that's without much help around him. Patriots may end up regretting letting him go if Peter King's Heartthrob (TM) gets old overnight. Not to mention their cap space is about the same as the national debt right now ...

They are up and coming. It's our duty to push them back down!

Ehh... I hope not - I hope they suck forever.

One of the reasons the Patriots have a dynasty is how weak their division is. I'm not looking for or hoping for the teams in our division to be good.

Would rather leave our starters for playoff games if we're locked at the 3rd seed with no upside to move up, keeping the team fresh increases our chances for a Super Bowl contention
