Sometimes it takes several years for NFL offensive linemen to develop. Transitioning from college often requires massive physical and mental adjustments, especially since many college programs use spread offenses or shotgun sets that do not translate directly to NFL blocking schemes. Maybe A. J. Arcuri fits this narrative.

I hope the Rams have some inside information on whether Jackson's impending suspension will come this year or next. If the first incident happened in 2023 and he was suspended in 2024, maybe they won't have to worry about it till next year. Whatever the case I think they have to consider moving on from him at some point. He didn't learn the first time. That is usually a red flag when a guy does this stuff more than once.
I stand corrected. The first incident happened in May 2024. Jackson was suspended the two games in Sept 2024. Which tells me the NFL can suspend him as soon as they want. Rams need to have a contingency plan. Losing a starting caliber left tackle can derail what is expected to be a very good season.

Hey @tomas Arcuri does not fit that narrative and all you have to do is watch him play. Now, in fairness Warren McClendon made major steps last season, but you did see glimpses of McClendon being effective. Arcuri has not showcased that ability.

So the questions looms, why have the Rams kept him? Well, he's cheap and you can put him out there in training camp plus preseason, but IMO, I have never seen anything from Arcuri that offers a glimmer of hope and when called upon a couple of years ago, he was worse than D.J. Humphries was against the Falcons.

I would love to be wrong, however, this was Arcuri's grade when he was called upon in 2024.

His limited 2024 season profile included:
  • Pass Blocking Grade: 1.9
  • Run Blocking Grade: 55.8
  • Pressures Allowed: 7 on 33 pass-block attempts.
Thus when everyone brings up A. J. Arcuri including my brother form another mother @BonifayRam I make reference to that if Arcuri is the option, I will jump off the Tallahatchie Bridge. Yes everyone, I have communicated that once again!

A. J. Arcuri being anywhere other than the PS should be a big red flag.

really interesting point about timing

You know, I have to slightly retract some of my statements about how this might be a nothing burger. I didn't realize that in 24' he was suspended two games by the NFL with out a conviction. Being that they (NFL) could do the same thing again, he could be serving a 6-8 game suspension. Ugh
Agree. Thats where this could be a really big problem.

You made me think of a line from zeppelin’s “Houses of the Holy”
—“Where’s that confounded bridge?”

What in the world just tickled your babble gene? Not sure what the hell you thought you just said but I agree the Rams could well be giving Trost a look at LT just in case. What would be the harm?

Yeah okay - can’t wait to see him in the preseason starting at LT - LOL.

The freaking silly thing is who knows if he isn’t going to be the starting RT because of this ?

The first step is knowing the difference between your left & your write.

Read it twice and was left more confused the 2nd time reading it. Don't even know what the hell the point was.

This is a really good point. If it's bad, it likely won't even be resolved until right up to the season opener or later. Then it's a problem for next year.

Or they'll realize that a gold digger with some scratches doesn't warrant a suspension, they'll rule like they did with Diggs and KC assistant coach. "No further action needed".

I do hope the Rams are successfully gathering a lot of advanced information, like a lot more than we have. Based on what we know it'd be really difficult to make moves.
I’m sure they have a PI or two on it. That’s private investigator for those of you out there that are still focused on what is left and right.:quiet:

I truly hope it is nothing, but second time and a pregnant woman makes me feel otherwise.

Me too. I think they gotta plan for a suspension and adjust accordingly. I'm guessing 6 games. And maybe think about Jackson's replacement at some point. I'm starting to think he can't control his emotions when it comes to women. Is there a veteran tackle available at this point? Someone they can realistically sign? Taylor Decker might be too expensive.

You raise a great point:
If the Rams are forced to pay a king’s ransom to bring in a suitable replacement like decker, then that could mean one more pending FA/extension that might not get done.

This could end up very costly.

Besides Decker, not much out there. Cam Robinson IMO would be D.J. Humphries 2.0. Trades are possible too, but overall I hope they have some viable options versus what is currently in house.
