Our 4th is 82 points . .. their 5 is about 32.
Foles, I'd guess was worth a 2nd rounder call-it the middle between 10 slot and 20 slot so call it 420 points.

Next year's 2 is, I think, and someone please tell me if I am wrong is valued as a 3rd rouder, so, again call it mid-3rd maybe 200

so 480 plus 200 plus 32 minus 82 = about 630

that's a late 1st rounder.

If he Bradford gets hurt we send a 3rd back again middle so about 200

So a healthy Bradford is worth a late-1st and an injured one is worth a 2nd rounder, give or take

Even using your math, which I dispute because the Rams valued Nick Foles above a late 1st...

It would still be 480+200+82-32= 730

Remember, we gave up a 5th and got a 4th

We valued Nick Foles and a 2nd over a late 1st. Huge difference.

How did you evaluate the cap space cleared? $1.362M added (Foles) - $12.985M (Bradford) = $11.623M. How many points is that worth? Clearly the Eagles valued Bradford as a mid first rounder not a lower one. If they values him as a low first rounder this would be a good way to trade with another team offering a low first rounder to actually move up the draft board after Mariota.

Even harder to quantify would be injury history and chance of reinjury.

you are right I got the 4th and 5th backwards . . . my mistake. Foles a 1st rounder? Okay, maybe. But I went with a safe 2nd rounder. In any event we got the "points" of a 1st round pick for Bradford, so passing up on a 1st round from maybe Cleveland or maybe even Denver was not a bad idea.

No, the word is they targeted Foles pretty far back.

The extra picks are Les Snead being a damn pimp. But no doubt they turned down a 1st for Bradford and I guarantee you they wouldn't take a first for Foles now. Not even a high first.
