Shanny is the best offensive mind, no doubt about it. Fortunately he's not as great as a HC.

For gosh sakes most of the these guys are all McVay disciples. What an impact he has had on the NFL.

I mean, the guy took an insanely injured team to 12-5 last year. He was in the running all year for Coach of the Year mostly due to that.

He's a great head coach. Probably not the best but a great head coach.

Hmm... that's some reading polls crime right there.

Might be helpful to include that this is how many votes did the guy get for being top a 3 playcaller and not the top playcaller. We cannot infer with this information that McVay was considered the best playcaller. Just not enough data.

Shanahan does well with his preplanned plays at the beginning of games but after that it gets sketchy.
Also, as a head coach he has no idea of how to keep his players healthy.

One of the criticisms of non-McShannahan offenses is that there's not a ton of easy buttons to spam. Things like motion, play-action, screens and RPOs (though we really don't use them much in this offense).

It's criminal what some of these young QBs have had to deal with when they are playing in static offenses with no quick answers or play-action to make reads easier. The QB just has to make the play "right."

Interestingly, good hot reads are a thing that can really help with spamming the easy button BUT I don't think our offense uses them much. I'm pretty sure McVay believes in having the playcall have the answer to the coverages already without designating hot and changing a route. This was an issue for Goff at the end, not seeing the field well enough to get to the answer within the playcall when he was required to drop back more and not just use play action.

(Though I don't think Ben Johnson's offense has hots either, think Goff legit got better at reading the field partly by his work as a drop back passer with Johnson.
"spamming the easy button" ???
Its football, not computer nerd world.

Tell me all about the forward pass.
Then we can turn all the football vernacular into binary code talk.
It will be fantastic.
wait till you see what AI is gonna do to football... and sports in general, it's gonna make the Moneyball erosion of Baseball look like child-splay.
