I will say that if AD is looking for more money I'll be disappointed in him. Not that he cares about that or anything. But I think the Rams have done right by him.

Outside of that I have been saying I expect he'll start being subbed vs certain teams on early downs, the ones who are run heavy. That should help him hold up as he gets into that final stretch. Let him settle in as a rush specialist from the interior. If he sticks around long enough that will end up being his role before he punches out. Does he want to do that. Lot of players think they're gonna punch out at a given point but when those moments come they see the other side of that coin. In this case it would be somewhere around 10 sacks a year perhaps.

For a guy like him who loves ball so much it's gonna be hard to make that call. Wonder if he'll go into coaching. But hopefully that stuff's a year or maybe two away.
Which reinforces my feelings we need 1-2 extra impact DT’s to accomplish this strategy and get AD’s teaching sin them before he ships off.

For this year I'd add one DT to the rotation for sure. 5T type who can weather the OT in the run game preferred too. So perhaps Robinson (Missouri) is on their list, or perhaps Trice round 2 or whatever. It's hard to find guys with that ideal build because some of the ones who have the raw frame would of course rather stay lean and make the bag on the edge. Floyd being a good example of that IMO.

Though that said if you're good at it you can get paid. Armstead has done pretty damn well.

For sure man, it seems like we have options with the versatility of our DL as Kobie also can also play other positions so it's even an option to draft a legit slobber knocker NT like T'vondre Sweat or McKinley Jackson. Imagine AD and Kobie with a middle like that and two legit DE's?

Aaron Donald knows.

I can’t be fucked with worrying about it. Eventually the band aid will be ripped off and the post AD era will begin.

This is kinda like people who think all lawyers are slimeballs.. or all athletes are entitled.. all actors are prima donnas.. that kind of stuff.

When you operate from the place that someone is ill-motivated, it obviously defines the way you perceive information that comes from them.

Suggesting her intent was to stir shit is an attack on her character and integrity. She's done nothing to deserve that.
It was clearly foreseeable that her comments would prompt fans and bloggers to worry or express concern about Donald playing in 2024. I call that an example of shit stirring.

If you equate my saying that to a blanket accusation that she is ill-motivated and lacking in integrity and character, that’s a mischaracterization.

No, it's not a mischaracterization.

In your mind it may not, because we're on a Rams message board and having a "take" is just a thing we have as fans. If one of us just throws that out there.. based on nothing.. it's shit stirring.

If you actually listen to the entire segment, you'd know that she's not doing that.

Suggesting a professional journalist, because that's what she is, a journalist, not a blogger, not a commentator.. suggesting she's throwing stuff out to stir shit up is, in fact, an attack on her integrity as a reporter.

Words have meaning, and you, I'm quite sure, understand that.

So, don't turn your unfortunate phrasing about her and her work into a situation where I'm twisting your words.

Nothing unfortunate about it at all. I stand by my position that this “report” was lacking in substance, clear fodder for fans and bloggers who are prone to overreacting, and below the standard I expect from Jourdan.

You are, of course, entitled to disagree, which I expect you will express once again.

Shit stirring.. that's what you called it.

I will say, here's the thing that frustrates me about Jourdan. There are other reporters out there like Charles Robinson who will report on background and then say, I think this is what's probably gonna happen. She has an absolute allergy to doing that. She will go out of her way to try not to imply what she thinks is gonna happen and oddly enough, that can muddy the waters on reporting things that aren't like a concrete move.

If she had simply said, I think there's a solid chance that Donald won't be on the Rams next season it would help or saying there's chatter but I don't really see this happening would also be great. It would actually make the reporting more solid.

It's because she's connected to the team and doesn't want to lose any sources. It doesn't mean she won't criticize certain moves, but I don't blame her for not wanting to lose sources.

We could do a hell of a lot worse than Jourdan, as the Panthers - and Cam - found out to their cost.

When AD retires at 40 the people who predicted retirement every year before that will say "See! I told you!"

I don’t think she does that until she has a strong enough feeling on where it will go.
She ain’t perfect. She’s got quirks & tics that bug me.. and she needs Rich back on or a new partner. Solo is terrible and Stu is just boring and limited because he’s a team employee.

She goes into detail in the pod about the situation.

If you haven’t listened to it but are posting takes, I really wonder why,

She is just a talking head trying to make a buck. The interview with Sneed is what you need to watch.

Geeez dudes just look at Donald's contract!! This is his last year. The other years are void years!! After the Super Bowl he basically said when he's done being a Ram he's done. He will retire a Ram and enjoy his money and family.

IMO the same thing can be said about Stafford, and when he retires so will Kupp. I see all three guys gone in 2025.
