In the Bundesliga (German football), selling your tickets at a higher cost than the initial sale price is considered violating club policy and would make the ticket holder subject to losing their season tickets along with a stadium ban

If the NFL had these regulations amongst resellers, stadiums would sellout consistently even with bad teams and would have a much stronger fan culture

Kudos to the Rams for trying to address this but, control what you can control. Climate, demographics and migration isn't one of them.

If the North American climate was reversed East to West and North to South, cities like Philly, New York, Chicago and Boston would be trying to keep opposing fans from invading their stadiums too.

Little boy Johnny the Rams/Chargers/Niners/Cardinals fan living in the West in a die hard sports family doesn't grow up and decide to move his family East and retire in Philadelphia...and go to the Rams game at Lincoln Financial Field.

Calling LA fans bad fans is another lazy take.

Disagree, Lived in LA my whole life, we have some of the biggest Fair-weather fans in all of sports. Go to a Lakers game, you'll see what I mean.

It’s going to be ugly ugly by the look of what’s available on the market.

The reality is rams don’t have enough fans willing to pay these prices while niner fans do and also have fans who would rather cash in and watch from home.

I don't mean to dump on LA fans... there are fair weathers for every team. The Whiner fans take the cake for me.

But there was this Laker fan back in 2011 during the playoffs who arrived at our gym in his car with 2 mounted Laker flags flying. When they lost that evening the next day I see him park same car at the gym minus flags.
I hate fake fair weather fans. :eyeroll:

The secondary market in LA is insane.. it's hard to be too critical of fans who can pay almost their entire season ticket package by selling a game or two.

I guess my question is (and not to you just using your comment to piggyback on) were there a lot of season tickets bought by scalpers and nonfans? Because according to Hammond tweet above the Rams season ticket holders all but kept their options for playoff tickets yet there are a ton on the secondary market which is where the ridiculous prices come from. So basically there are a ton of season ticket holders who are saying "fuck this game I'd rather make a quick buck off of it". Or the Rams have a lot of season ticket holders who are just ticket scalpers basically.

Sure sometimes people fall on hard times and have to do this sort of thing and that's fine. But this is pretty wide spread. If you can afford season tickets and you're an actual fan of the team I don't think you sell out for the game that gets you to the Super Bowl. That is stupid and I will be 100% critical of those dumbasses.

The whiners are such a miserable arrogant bunch. Enhanced past full douche mode through social media. I need to just avoid the click because I'll just want to open hand slap every one of 'em... and I'm a pacifist. :p

I understand, and i've been in Arizona all my life. If your argument is about fair weather fans i'd have to agree. The Arizona fan base is the same. There are other things to do here in AZ and CA when the home team stinks.

My post and argument is about this notion that LA fans are bad fans because they don't travel like other fan bases, and home stadium invasion. The same shit happens here at Cardinals home games. These invading fan bases are residents who live here(in AZ and in LA).

It's low hanging fruit to call out these fan bases operating in transplant areas. It's demographics. The Lakers have been a fixture in LA for what, 60+ years? Countless titles. The Dodgers the same. The Rams have been here for 6 years. They were gone for 20 yrs and were essentially gone for 10 yrs prior to leaving for St Lou. 30 yrs of invisibility to LA.

Only 6 yrs in LA. If we were using geological timelines it wouldn't even register next to the Lakers and Dodgers.

It takes (alot) of winning and time in these areas. Much much longer than non-transplant areas. The Phoenix Suns have been here for over 50 years now. It's a fair weather fan base but i can remember a time 30 yrs ago when Lakers and other visiting fans would regularly invade our arena. Not so much anymore. The Suns have won. No titles but a fuck ton of winning and they got their own arena back in '93.
1) Time in the community
2) A new stadium
3) Winning

The Cardinals have been here for just over 30 yrs. They haven't been successful and although there are still invading residents at home games(like myself at Rams games, lol) it isn't near as bad as it once was. It's mostly a sea of red these days. The two factors that have improved it are
1)Time in the community
2) A new stadium
Winning, which hasn't happened.

Reply too long, sorry. The Rams are doing it right. Get your own stadium and win. That's all they can do. It's gonna take time. I don't like calling out the fan base (or the current team) for things they can't control.
1) A new stadium
2) Winning
Nowhere near enough time in the community.

Fair enough.

I do think most of the re-selling is brokers.

I'll dump on them. I think to some extent this is cowardice on the part of the Rams fans. They're scared of the 9ers and think we're going to lose so hey why not sell those tickets and make some money then watch the game safely at home where they can turn it off the moment things turn bad.

So fuck them. If I'm the Rams right now I am preparing for a road game in terms of silent count. It's gonna be a sea of red.

Rams just need to go in there and beat the shitters down so we can watch Deebo cry on the sideline while the 9er "faithful" beat feet to the exits early.

There are a lot of Niner fans in So Cal. They're looking to buy all the tickets to the game and flood Sofi with their Bang Bang Niner Gang. Rams fans need to show up and represent.

Look it will NOT be worse than what they just saw in TB. And this time they WILL be prepared for it. The offense handled the crowd fine in TB, id say its probably going to be 65-35 Rams fans or something like that, if its not, at least we are prepared and have seen it before.

SF fans travel well, its not unlike the Dodgers, Yankees, Packers, Cowboys etc....as someone else said.

That being said if your in LA or surrounding area and can get to the game PLEASE GO and do your part. Met some cool Rams fans from NM after the game yesterday they said they are going to be there!!

i stand by my statement that LA fans are terrible.

The problem isn't that there are not enough devoted rams fans. The problem is the cost. As an owner I would would much rather see more rams fans in attendance at lower ticket profit, than alot more visitor fans at slightly higher profit.

I mean, it would really piss me off That I just spent 6 billion dollars on the finest venue on earth, to have my team play a conference championship game having to use a silent count due to the high attendance of obnoxious niner fans. Fuck that. It's my 6 billion, my team, if you want to whine about my ticket policy for opponents fans, go fuck yourself

Nosebleeds on Stubhub running $595

Same for re-sale on Ticketmaster.

I've thought about traveling but I can fly to California cheaper than the seats.
