The 49ers are reportedly open to dealing one of their reserve inside linebackers.

According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, the club has placed fourth-year pro Michael Wilhoite on the trading block.

With Navorro Bowman (knee) missing the entire season and Patrick Willis (toe) sitting out the final 10 games, the 28-year-old Wilhoite was a 16-game starter for San Francisco in 2014, notching 87 tackles, six passes defended and two picks.

However, Wilhoite figures as a backup this season, and the 49ers are willing to move the exclusive-rights free agent, the Bee reports. The club seeks a sixth- or seventh-round pick, the newspaper said.

Nice guns on that dude. Can we even deal with the whiners though?

I don't know anything about him other then what I just read, but based on his production I'd throw a seventh rounder at him in a heart beat. We could use some quality LB'ers.

I'll give them Scott Wells and Jake Long. That's a steal for them. Two OL starters for a reserve LB? They should jump all over that!

With our luck, Jake Long would bounce back into Pro Bowl form and play us twice a year.

He played in a 3/4 is an inside LBer. I question if he would have the range or coverage ability that Fisher likes in his MLB. Wilhoite isn't very similar to JL. He wouldn't be good depth on the outside either. I don't think he is a fit for the Rams.

I'll give them a cleat in the ass rather than a draft pick. Douchbags.
