PREGAME 49’ers at Rams - Time To Smoke The Whiners

Ok, let's say a magical leprechaun from the future offers you 1 SURE Playoff win for the Rams this season, but we would have to take our 6th loss in row to the 49ers ?

A: win vs the 49ers, end the streak and see how we do going forward?
OR
B: a loss vs the 49ers but are guaranteed 1 playoff victory?

I want the Rams to win the SB this year. That's obviously the goal. But getting in the playoffs and getting to the superbowl are very different things.
I don't care too much about playoff wins unless it's at the conference level. Those matter. Adding 1 first round win to our playoffs all-time W/L column doesn't do much for me.

I would want the Rams to beat SF and take their chances going forward. I value this win against our rival over a single 1st round playoff victory I think...

I remember a game...way back. Tim Mcdonald stated: SOSAR's the day before this game. I'm sure many of you remember this game also. Warner went 20/23 with 5 td's. Tony Horne took one 97 yards to the house! Robert Holcome #25 pounded the rock. (Sony M is our new #25 pounding the rock). Iassic Bruce caught 3 TD's in the first quarter! 4TD's total. Iassic Bruce had never beaten the 49'ers. He was overcome with emotion during this game. He must have felt such a relief! 17 strait losses to the niners. I will never forget October 10th, 1999: RAMS 42, whiners 20! I am soooo looking forward to this game!!! Go Rams!!!

Wtf!! Who in there right mind doesn’t want to beat the 9ers? Then give this Rams Team a chance to win The SuperBowl no matter what ?
To me as any Ram would think that is a win win.
If you asked me to loss to the 9ers for some weird reason to knock them out of the playoffs I’d do that.Actually there might have been a solution where that could happen.

I didn't say "I liked the option of losing to the 49ers", I said "I liked the leprechaun question". And I think my answer shows how I feel about the niners. I remember what happened in 1999 and I also remember what happened in 1989. Do you? We got beat 30-3 in the NFC Championship Game, won the next year in the first matchup, then lost 17 times in a row before that 99 game. So yeah, I remember.

It's easier said than done, but the key to beating SF is to smother the run and take away the short passing game. Force Garoppolo to hold the ball and throw down the field. He might burn us a few times, but he's liable to also make mistakes, leading to negative plays and turnovers. Also, put Jalen Ramsey on Deebo fucking Samuel.

What I will say is the a Oline and Stafford will be key in this game. He cannot be "heater shelter" with the ball or panicky like he's been!

I get it and you're right.
However, I don't believe it's that Stafford is "panicky". I think he's kinda got the opposite problem... but it's also why he's good... he is simply not afraid to rip it. Even when he should be. It's a big part of his DNA as a passer.

In ‘20 there was the infamous 3rd and 16 shootout, but the most recent game was the new look rams minus the anchor that was Goff getting inexplicably bitch slapped. The rams got their ass kicked earlier this year and somehow now all the losses were the same type of beating. Now we get to hear how they’ve figured out Donald and Kittle is suggesting that the rams can’t or won’t stand up to the niners style of play, and it gets parroted endlessly on fox and espn.
