I think we move around in the 2nd and use some of that '27 ammo now that we don't need to trade a ton to grab a QB. My best left are:

Boston - WR - 3rd WR a need, 1st round talent
J.McCoy, CB - From what I hear, he may need a future surgery but that could be years in the future. Our time is now.
K.McDonald DT/ Lee Hunter DT - Very nice eventual Ford replacement. Would be nice, when Ford was hurt we suffered
Stowers, WR/TE - Offensive weapon, not too far off Sadiq IMO
Bernard, WR - Good all around WR
A.Williams, WR - Talented
C.Bell, WR - 1st round talent
Rodriguez LB - Could start day 1
Ponds CB - Great 3rd CB
C.Miller DT - Add another inside guy to the rotation that has some pass rush juice
Howell/Young/Parker/Jacas/R Thomas Edge - Edges for the rotation with some juice
Dunker, OT - Back up OT, badly need
Cisse CB - Another solid 3rd CB option
Burks, WR - Steve Smith loves this guy, I tend to trust his evaluations

There is a lot of talent on the board, I think we can trade around a grab a couple guys from this list.

We are looking to stand on the podium this year. Any year you can feasibly do that, you have to get what you can. IMO, they need that 3rd WR and at least a decent back up OT. They can live with everything else for the most part, though I think Speights took a step back as well.

I don't think a WR is necessary, and I think they like Dolac at LB.
OL is a bit of a concern...but McVay doesn't seem to mind later picks to fill those spots...plus we don't know if they think Dedich and others will develop.

I'm not as confident in Mumpfield and Whittington as you. If Puka misses any time, I would have real concerns with our passing game.

That said, there is about 10-12 pretty solid options at WR in the 2nd-3rd round, so I'm sure we can grab one regardless.

I'm not at all keen on moving up the board in the second round, especially if it means giving up pick(s) in next year's draft. I'd be happy in snagging Denzel Boston but I highly doubt he'll be available by the time we pick. I'm sold on Chris Bell now. I also like Oscar Delpe but he may be a reach, but it'd be less of one compared to the Simpson selection. I'm open to most of the top linebackers that could still be available by the time the Rams pick next. I'd consider even rolling the dice on Jermod McCoy at this point as his talent is undeniable, but I certainly wouldn't trade much in order to move up to select him.

Waiting for late 2nd round is always real painful as you see that drop as the last few top guys you hope get to you instead get taken.

But if we can come out of the remainder with a receiving weapon for the big dog with that round 2 pick, maybe a Center like Slaughter in the third round, a depth ILB with some upside, and special teams pieces we'll be in business.

I'm hoping to see OL depth. A depleted OL has lead to the Ram's woes in recent seasons. Then hopefully another edge player that can cover in passing situations and CB depth. And maybe good special teams depth as well.

Our starting 22 is good as is. Oddsmakers think so too ranking us the favorites. What we'll need is depth. And maybe a couple starters down the road.

Agree, while we already spent our 3rd round pick from next year sure sounds like Rams are expecting Scheelhouse will be bringing in a 3rd next year though I expect we may be moving up from the bottom of the third and maybe not the 2nd.

A guy like Stowers could be there for us at the end of the 2nd.

Are you doubting their roster now has what it takes to stand on the podium this year?

I agree that a decent backup OT is a need.

Arguably, the 3rd WR isn't a need. I'd classify it as a high-priority want. They had the #1 offense last year with Puka and Adams as the only two real WR threats. Why couldn't they do the same this year? When those guys miss time, they went heavy into 13 personnel, and the offense continued to hum. The TE room is loaded, so they can lean on that, if necessary.

Looking at the board all 7 of the top dudes are gone, so the remainder are going to be developmental projects. So at least there's no hurry now, where the Rams can try to get that weapon for the pass game first.

I'd go after that weapon round 2, for this year's playoff run. Feels like that's important to finish up our pass game. Then round 3+ work the rest of the needs starting with the swing role, which, I have to agree, is a big need.
