I think there's an outside chance that Mumpfield could take a very nice step this year. He most likely needs to have added some weight while not losing agility and speed and needed to do some work on his hands but the kid has some talent to be a solid 3 WR who could play slot and Z.

I believe by the end of the year he was taking the majority of snaps as the 3rd receiver in 11 personnel.

He was definitely getting a lot of playing time towards the end of the season and into the playoffs but wasn't really making much of an impact. Here's hoping that changes this season.

The transition from college TE to the NFL is not easy and usually takes a few years before things really start to fall into place. I am excited about the Rams TE room for this upcoming season.

Unless you’re a special player the day you’re drafted. They aren’t unicorns.

I’d just like to see one of these kids take the Alpha role from Higbee. It really shouldn’t be too difficult if any of them are special.

Im not sure that having multiple functional starters vs a dominant player at TE is ideal. It worked out okay last year I guess.

It’ll be an interesting season in that regard. Someone has to emerge as a true 3rd weapon in the passing game.

Other than a possible Jackson suspension THIS will be the biggest ?? through training camp and into the season.

I, for one, find it exciting as I don't think the cupboard is bare here: Mumpfield shows some talent as a route runner but can he develop his hands more and some YAC ability, Klare shows incredible ability to bend from the TE position and may be able to run some traditionally only WR routes from the position and has GREAT acceleration if not long speed, and Fergy flashed as a deep threat who if he can just be assignment sound and get on the same page with Stafford and work on contested catches has the potential to break out and be a star as soon as this year.

We saw the beginnings of that last season I think.

Parkinson played in a similar range to what Higs has been for us and it seemed like he won the gig as the inline TE. It was really nice to see Higs return of course, but his age (33) ensures there's a transition ahead. I think Parkinson is the guy on the roster who they count on for giving them continuity from what Higs has been.

And from there you have two young TEs who should compete for the slot role. Now maybe that slot role isn't up for grabs, depending on whether they want to use Nacua there. He is after all superb in that role as he showed last season, as good as prime Kupp. But that role takes a beating in this scheme. So maybe the reason they targeted Klare was to ensure they have a young option in the slot for possession and chain moving, and at the very least eating some slot snaps to help Nacua get to the playoffs in healthy form.

Ferg you were right he wasn't ready to step in right away. He did some good things though and is going into year two now. And he'll have Klare breathing down his neck. So I think there's a good chance we see one of these oversized weapons emerging and helping them keep Nacua healthy this year, where he'll flex into that Z role and still be moved around in a way that favors him.

Blake Corum doesn't need to post a workout video. His work ethic is crazy. If I remember, when he was in HS, the coaches locked him out of the weight room, because he trained too much. The team would play a game, then Corum would go into the weight room and work out, it wasn't healthy. You don't need to motivate that guy, he's the type of player you have to hold back and protect him from himself by telling him not to do things, to not work so hard, treat rest and recovery as part of the training schedule.

The first part of that video - all I thought of was a twisted ankle. That’d be me right away. Then again, I’m not a professional athlete ;)
Me too.

Damn that’s serious work on drills specific to RB moves.
