Don't get the Crosby to Ravens trade. Two first rounders. Probably going all in to maximize what's left of Jackson's window.

What do you guys think the Rams do with Emmanuel Forbes? I'd prefer he become a depth piece. He's a boundary corner only, right? So, if Mcduffie will play inside and out, do they go get another boundary guy and move Forbes to the bench or get a guy who is mainly slot but can move out?

Yeah. Last year outside of health the only thing they were missing was pressure by the line.

I like Forbes at the right price and in the right role. You can't have all pros at every position. If we can get 1 more strong corner to pair with McDuffie in the secondary, making Forbes CB3, with Lake and Curl at safety, I think that is a great secondary. Forbes has shown flashes of elite play, he had an amazing stretch last year locking players down, he has good physical traits, lots of length, long arms, he can bat passes down well, he has speed, there is a reason he was picked so high in the draft, but he is inconsistent, can get bullied, and not great in the run game which to me personally is a big strike against a corner. But ultimately I suspect someone will pay him more than he is worth and play him in a role above his capacity. Hopefully that is not the Rams.

Forbes is under contract. DWill is a sure fire cut with a $7.5m cap savings. The next decision is whether they go after Durant or McCreary in FA. They won’t sign both but I bet they sign one.

But back to my main point. To give up what it will probably take to get Crosby would lead me to believe the rumors may be true.
Those rumors which are clearly just click bait being he just signed a 5 year extension 1 month ago

Why do (not just) you think that, with Brady and Rodgers going to 42.
Back issues?
He has never played as well as last year.
Edit. And great receivers and a great coach and a great organization and he loves LA.
You just answered the question
There are only 2 guys in the history of the league who played at high level past 38 years old, and I argue that Rodgers hasnt been anything great since he was 37/38
The list of guys who were cooked by 39 is long and endless
Not to mention the back issue

I think we're on the same page (thanks for the detailed response by the way) but is Forbes cb3 as in reserve or do we use Mcduffie as a boundary guy who moves inside sometimes and then add another slot corner while keeping Forbes on the field, in your opinion?

Maybe. Maybe not. Last person I heard mention it was Todd McShay who claims to have heard it from people around the league. He didn't make a big deal out of it or anything. He just mentioned it in passing.

Not really hard to believe though. The guy is human. He & his wife just had a kid and if I'm not mistaken are expecting another one. A cushy TV job could be a better option for a family. Who knows?
