I actually love playing Sudoku hahaha

Years ago, like the early 2000’s, my brain was literally shutting off…to the point I’d forgotten how to sign my name and sometimes couldn’t understand English. Got tested at the VA and I wasn’t getting enough neural stimulation. So I started with Sudoku…

One could say I OD’d on Sudoku… was almost solely responsible for my faculties returning, but now I see a Sudoku puzzle and I shudder…

Now that I’m recovered, I can’t look at a sudoku puzzle now… just have flashbacks to dreaming about puzzles with only 3 numbers and grinding on the possibilities…

Irrelevant IMO so next year there will be a few different players taking my money. Means absolutely nothing to me it's still players taking as much as the other guys.

Difference is that I’m happy to pay the going rate for the players…the owners don’t add shit…literally nothing to the game.

We don’t need massive stadiums or any of the shit owners add even as I think SoFi is amazing.

The game could be the game with the players in lesser venues. The game could survive without owners. The game couldn’t survive without the players.

This is an excellent point although I'm pretty sure the players would also screw us for more money if they could. Just like everyone else in the entertainment business, and I guess big business too. I retrospect... I guess we're all greedy bastards.

That game exists it's called high school football go enjoy it. And no the game wouldn't be the same without the league putting everything together for us sorry. I know you're conditioned to hate the owners but they're just half of the equation not all of it.

The average fan already has a Prime and Netflix subscription. Maybe not YouTube...
Well, I'm an average fan, have youtube tv,
(Sunday ticket), have a prime account for shopping (I live in a small Mississippi town), but I haven't had an overrated or high priced Netflix account in years. I'm tired of paying over hundreds a year for these platforms because my team of choice is 'out of market". Fuck the greedy Goodell and the greedy fucking owners and players for "needing" so much to provide for their family. Wish I wasnt as hooked on pro football as I am but it's getting to a breaking point. I live under very modest means and have to make sacrifices to watch the game I love. Ive already been priced out of EVER going to a game in person so TV is it for me, u fortunately. We all celebrate the salary cap going up so we can sign players to make our team better, but why the fuck do we celebrate it when the cost is passed directly to us?

I mean that makes sense if you were playing it way too much. I definitely love playing it but I also don't do it all the time. My crazy ass tests my brain im various ways I don't even plan for hahahaha

At some point in life though (not necessarily just pointing at the sports side) haven't some folks won in life already? How much more winning (money wise) can ya do? Some people have so much money they can live multiple lifetimes.

And I still have to sit through commercials as well as pay a fee. 'Member when we could watch for no cost and in return we had to sit through advertisements. Ah the good 'ol days.

Be careful, Goodell. You're product is king now, but ask the NBA and MLB what happens when you put up barriers for the younger generations to watch your product. I got hooked as a young man on basketball and baseball 'cus it was always on in the background. I haven't watched the NBA in a decade, and I was a 40 year Dodger fan but lost interest when I cut the cable cord and didn't have access to their games.

I love football and the Rams, but there are always other things to do. Always.

I'm surprised the players union doesn't get more involved in this. Most teams have 8 or 9 guys that get paid big bucks while the rest of the players get minimum contracts, get cut, or have to sign somewhere else to keep a job. For example... Stafford and PUka could take up as much as 1/3 of the Rams total CAP if the team didn't get creative with contracts. Don't ask me for advice for the players union because I don't have the answers.

Football up until the 80s would like a word. Every game was played in a publicly financed stadium, the games were on free, over the air broadcast tv subsidized by commercials, and the owners drew no money from the teams (Frontiere was the exception and it showed.)

Don’t let recency bias fool you. We had everything I’m talking about and it worked fine. They could have worked out more game availability, but the NFL thought forcing us to watch the games they chose was a feature and they defended it.

Also, capitalism isn’t monopolistic, quite the opposite. In capitalism in a perfect market, sellers COMPETE with informed buyers on price and value and buyers seek out products that meet their needs at the value point they feel most comfortable with. The NFL is a monopoly cartel and extracts monopoly rents.

Chasing margin eventually loses a company or cartel market share which in virtually every instance isn’t reclaimed.

Also, don’t pick fights or take shots about conditioning as if I’m some naive child. Stick with the contention at hand. Your argument is lacking and not based on decades of economic precedent.

Perhaps, you can expound on how owners provide HALF the value to to NFL fans… half…

And in the 80's players made 1/100 of what they make now just like the owners. They had no health benefits and no retirement from the league for those players that only played a couple of years. We can go round and round and round on this for ages and neither will change the others mind. You had rich people and businesses it's clear by your every response. I'm putting the players and the owners on equal footing and you refuse to do that. All the evils of the game are on the owners I get it we can take that beyond the NFL I get it.

I mostly blame the owners for the high prices but the players see the revenue and want their half. Both are greedy but the owners make the deals to bring in the revenue.

They do so they and the players can both make money off of us fans. I get it the owners are billionaires and there are about 2400 millionaires. There's a whole lot of our money floating around among them. I don't separate them but some want to for their own reasons. They both take our money when they didn't used to especially at this level. To me they're both complicit and neither is some knight in shining armor they're made out to be fighting the bad guy. They're both bad, greedy and a lot of the time lazy as long as they're making their share of the money.
