That’s what I remembered as well. Sideline late hit as Bradford was going out of bounds.
Panthers' safety Mike Mitchell ... 2013 hit on Bradford as Sam was stepping out-of-bounds.

Brian Billick was providing the color commentary and insisted it was just a hamstring but any knowledgeable fan could tell it was a knee ... although the severity could not be determined. Billick sucked.

If this has been brought up already, my apologies.

I am not going to pretend to know how the salary cap works or how the Rams can manipulate the cap to sign players. With that said:

If the Rams were to somehow sign Cam Jordan and Stefon Diggs, it COULD be like VonMiller and OBJ

This team feels real strong and a couple of moves like that could be the difference maker.

I wonder what other WR options might materialize this Summer? To me that still feels like a vulnerability if injury happens.

If Simpson needs to play as early as next year, I don’t think we can go full on F them picks. The Rams need to keep some dry powder to stay strong around Simpson.

Bradford was failed by his coaching staff and GM. He should have been a good quarterback. He had everything you want in a QB. He was just put in a situation that set him up for failure.

Luckily, Ty is coming into a situation that’s set up for success.
There was a time I felt that way about Bradford. But in the end I decided he was missing something. Like a pair of something. :laugh2:

If they go full on F them picks for a vet, they would have that vet to surround Simpson with. In fact, if they don't have Stafford next year, they can afford a whole host of vets that they otherwise wouldn't be able to because of Simpson's low contract.

Yeah, exactly. Whatever adds up to boosting this year while helping Simpson’s development all works.

Agreed but I think we are a little thin at CB now since we lost 5 and gained two. I guess we are counting on the UDFA ones we signed?

Ha! I just made that same point on another thread - then came to this one and saw it. Great minds….;)

I wonder if Brian Thomas Jr. could become (as you mentioned) a summer option.

I agree, this team is strong. They were a solid secondary away from home-field advantage this past season and possibly a Lombardi.

I am very excited for this season and the possibility of being the only team to host/win 2 home SBs.

I doubt that Stafford retiring after this season would relieve any cap space. More likely there would be a load of dead cap money.

That's why he goes by Sammie and not Sam.

I liked Bradford. His knees kept him from being able to stay on the field. His big rip IMO was the man got paid a ridiculous amount to rehab injuries.

His contract is going to change soon so this post is just for illustration purposes.

If he retired after this season on his current contract, there would be a large dead cap hit of $33 mil. in 2027, but that would still be $15mil. below the 2026 cap hit.

Where it would help, though, is knowing that there's a lot more space in 2028 and beyond. That knowledge could help them structure all new contracts.
