I think Freeling goes off by 10 because he seems to be the consensus LT. I'd be very surprised if he were to be there at 13. And if he's at 13 why wouldn't we take him. We need a swing OT and our starting LT has been fighting blood clots his entire career thus far.

As to Mauigoa and Fano and the rest of these guys it's hard to say what team prefers who and/or where they project them to play. I mean shit as it pertains to OTs there are dudes who have long enough arms and still end up inside.

Either way it sure would be nice if we get a trade down offer. I see it sort of like OS, where I have a hard time imagining some team wanting to come up for a dude with short arms. But hey maybe teams will move up for Guards and the Rams could be sitting on Ioane and Maui. Who knows.

I really struggle with the idea of taking a swing tackle at 13. We'd essentially be using a top pick on a guy that hope we don't have to use.

I think the rams are in a tough place where moving up or moving down are the only ideal options. Bain might fall to us. I'd take him (there's a nice rotation on the edge and we can probably let Young walk next year). Lemon or Tyson might be there. I'd even take Vega if we can't move (doubt we pay Avila and Dotson next year). Otherwise, 13 is kinda tough.

Schrager has us trading down with the Lions and taking Sadiq

Would work for me - although the return from the Lions feels a bit light.
Cardinals are apparently struggling to get out of 3 and many are speculating that no one is paying the "usual" price for trading up. Might he what he's thinking with our trade down.

Some might say the Lions overpaid if they relied solely on the draft trade chart I just saw.

would you do it for a healthy Gurley?
Sure, for a healthy Gurley.
But I've watched several Love highlights videos, and while they were good, they were nothing like Gurley's GA tape. Gurley was a unicorn RB, firmly entrenched in the Rams RB echelon with Dickerson, Jackson & Faulk. But for some reason, I just wasn't as impressed w/ Love's tape as I was his. Even his teammate has just as good of highlights as Love has (Jadarian). I'd be just as happy if we skipped Love & drafted Washington Jr.--his tape pops to me.
I'd be happy if we wound up drafting him & I was totally wrong about him -- but I really don't think it's worth jumping up to 3 or 5 or whatever to get him.

I just want them to find a coverage LB. It's a glaring need. Heck, I'd be happy with Bobby Wagner for a mere $7-8M. At 36 he's still productive as heck, vene though coverage isn't his strength now. So find another LB with those skills in the draft.

Just don't see Sadiq being all that much of a contributor for us this year. We are loaded at TE. Yes, I know he could run routes, but so could Ferguson and we saw how much he contributed. This should be the year Ferguson actually gets going and we are going to hinder that by drafting another TE? I don't get it. I get OL, WR, nearly any D position. Don't get TE.

I disagree. That 13 personnel was deadly and we had 4 tight ends in the rotation running it. Now, maybe it depends on your thoughts on Davis Allen - or counting on the continued health of those guys all being able to stay in that rotation - but I think there is definitely a fit.

McShay's final mock has us taking Simpson at 13....

He talks to GM's, I hope his info is wrong. IF we are dead set on Simpson, trade the f down first. Almost no competition for him.
Mcshay is a wannabe. He's good at scouting but he doesn't have legit sources in most teams camps. Look at his analysis on the jets at #2. He's legitimately flip flopped every other day on who they're taking lol.

Not sure he is a wannabe. He makes his living talking about the NFL draft. Call me a wannabe wannabe then.

He does speak to some teams, whether they tell him the truth or what they want him to report is up to them.

Which means he will take credit for nailing the pick.

I prefer commentators that simply accumulate information and then summarize and provide it.

I prefer the evaluations and opinions of former-players ... PROVIDED ... they have actually put-in-the-work.

Finally, I also prefer brunettes, with subtle breasts and tight, firm butts ... but it occurs to me that comment may be irrelevant to this discussion; and, perhaps, a little inappropriate.
