Tried telling people. In a weaker draft, there's more incentive to trade. There are less guys each team rates as a first rounder, and it is generally cheaper to trade up.
Makes the most sense. If there's only so many guys to covet, then you better go and get them.

I won't lie guys... I'm circling back around on Sadiq. Seems like a very, very real possibility and leans into Snead's preferences for elite athletes early plus McVay's love for the tight end position and recent trends into 13 personnel. I have some questions about his route running ability and mediocre production but I can see him being very high on the Rams big board with rare traits in what he brings to both the pass and run game. Not necessarily where I'd go personally but I think he'll be available at 13 and just trying to read the tea leaves here.

Yeah, teams have a short list of targets, probably based more on need & BPA at that need position, vs settling for a elite guy at any position since there are fewer elite players. So they have to maneuver to get that guy or bail out and get more darts to throw.

My prediction for Rams pick at 13 has been Lemon, steadily for a Month. I now put Sadiq in that spot with 2 weeks to go. Mostly for the reasons you pointed out.

I'm far from a Branch guy but he's actually right. Tutu came into the combine at a legendary 149 lbs lol
My friend Memphis won't like this comparison, but he's more Tavon than Tutu. Of course, he is a more polished WR than Tavon was coming out, but like Tavon, he's not a deep threat who plays outside. He's a slot, return man, and gadget guy. If we draft him, I'll trust McVay. I'm sure he can get use out of him.

Well, I used to think that way until he signed Tutu for $10M for a year.
Eh, I still trust him - we all make mistakes.
I agree. Even McVay makes mistakes from time to time.

So I will trust McVay on most things but Branch I just can't if he gets picked.

I didn't like the Tutu pick in 2021 and even hate it even more after the 10M fiasco last year.

There is no world where Hood is above Delane. Simms is looking for clicks.
He's not the only person with that opinion.

I saw a video where some draft guy named Jonah Tuls has Hood, Delane, and McCoy as the 10th, 11th, and 12th ranked players in the draft overall (He said McCoy would be top 5 if not for durability concerns).

He said that he really values players that have that click and close and is strong in off man coverage. He also believes he's the best run defender at the position in the draft. He stated that Delane is the smartest and best zone CB in the draft, though.

I guess it also doesn't help that Delane is smaller and doesn't have prototypical arm length.

Im not averse to drafting another small WR, but he’d better be a dog from the neck up. An alpha competitor. Lives and breathes football. A fuck you attitude on the field. All of the best little guys had/have that. Steve Smith is the pioneer in that regard but there are many. Welker, Flowers, Cobb, D. Jax etc

Rams need to do their homework in that aspect before drafting another Tavon or Tutu.
