I would not bitch if Zion Young was the pick at #13, especially if everyone is so quick to throw BY overboard.

As a Mizzou fan, Zion Young is not a first round prospect and not a person I want us to draft because of his personality on (he's a total hothead and undisciplined as shit; you look at the Alabama tape in particular where he helped give the Crimson Tide the game with multiple drive-extending personal fouls) and off the field (a count of drunk driving in December of last year and a count of misdemeanor assault in 2023, the latter that he got suspended for).

Talented as hell, but with a ten-cent brain. Not someone I'd be happy to see us select; I trust Gabe Jacas (Illinois) much more if we're looking for a big athletic edge rusher.

Thats too bad. The “ten cent brain” and all. Big and talented guy, otherwise.

If you check out the 4 round mock I copied/pasted above it had ZY going in the 2nd round, Jacas lasting until the 3rd.

I really like Jacas and had him going to the Rams (also the 3rd round) in my first mock posted. If Jacas lasts until the 3rd, I would love to see the Rams make a play for him. He could line up inside as well as outside like Verse does on occasion. That would be quite a rotation at that position—Verse and Jacas.

Sounds like a certain Edge from Tennessee that we gifted the Falcons last year. I'm a even bigger no on him now, and so will the Rams be.

Found this interesting. The Rams traded down with the lions and nabbed Cooper in the 1rst. They followed that up with Dunker in the 2nd. I would not complain about that.
That trade is very reasonable and likely the target for a trade up team. I love that there is some many draftable options at 17: Cooper Jr, McCoy, Sadiq, Simpson (gone in this mock but I expect will be there - Jets are not taking him in the 1st this year, they have a boatload of assets to take their franchise guy next draft), Mesidor (Rams like guys seasoned out of college), Tyson, Lemon (doubt this).

Extra 3rd (this must be in '27 as it doesn't show in the mock) and a 5th is a big win for us here.

Summary:
1.17 - Cooper Jr, WR
2.61 - Dunker, OG/OT
3.91 - N.Tucker, Edge (inexperienced/undersized but intriguing athletic traits)

Yes, I believe the 3rd was for ‘27, basically recouping what we gave up in the McD trade.

Would love that spot for Rams, Detroit sadly doesn't have their mid round picks this year so it'll have to be a third next year.
I believe it is. What’s good about that is the Rams should be picking lower than the lions next year. That means they traded THEIR 3rd rounder for McD to the chiefs but got back a BETTER 3rd rounder from the lions.
So at the end of the day, they actually moved up in the 3rd next year between the two transactions.

Really bummed out about this, I was slowly moving him ahead of my boy Lemon. Doubt I can do that anymore. Is he able to privately work out for teams on visits?

His hammy issues WILL cost him millions in draft dollars.

Been thinking, have we backed ourselves into a metaphorical corner at WR 3 ahead of the draft? We legit have to draft 1, likely with 1 of our first 2 picks. I honestly don't think there is a chance we head into the season with Mumpfield as our 3rd WR with our top 2 guys on the higher likelihood side of missing games. When either sits, we suffer and its apparent.

Sure, there are some vets still in FA, but they are almost exclusively older, too expensive for us (Jennings), or not even an improvement.

BPA might just mean the best WR available. It doesn't have to happen with 13, but I'd feel pretty nervous if it didn't happen with our 2nd rounder.

I don't think we have backed ourselves into that corner at all. We can still get a WR3 in the 2nd or 3rd. Especially as a team where our WR1 is a 5th round pick and the one before him was a 3rd round pick.

I can see any of the 3 WR's though Tyson might fall with the injury keep popping up.
ILB there are a couple that could be taken at 13.
CB still a possibility.
Does Downs fall?
OT as much as I doubt this one it's still possible.
Least likely player to fall to us outside of Mendoza is Love but he's possible.
Simpson is a possibility.

Rams are wide open for business I don't think it's a problem to be in the Rams shoes.

Think you have more faith in the 3rd round WR's then myself. Ideally, we need a WR to contribute from day 1 as our 3rd WR that can alternate into our 2nd WR as the need arises. Unless Mumpfield or Whittington takes a large leap, getting a impactful 3rd WR could be our biggest need.

If we had 4th and 5th round picks, I'd feel a bit better about it, as we could move around more to get our guy.

I believe it would be a great thing to get a WR3 and more talent overall at the skill positions, but I feel the board is definitely overstating the need.

We had the #1 offense last year with Puka and Adams as the only really talented WRs. Sure, there is concern if they get injured, but no more so than critical injuries at other positions, such as QB and OT.

At least with WR, we can go much more 13 personnel and still be productive.

I put a swing OT as just as high a need. Probably should be higher because we've seen what happens if Stafford isn't protected.

I have more faith in Snead McVay and the people who work with them I guess. They've done us very good lately so yeah I trust them. Forcing a position isn't something they'll do IMO they'll let the board fall to them and pick a winner. They have every right to expect that belief from us because they've earned it.
