Supposedly Simpson QB Alabama coming out. Not saying I would necessarily take him but wonder what our scouts think for the late first pick.

Not an eligible player, but Demond Williams, formerly the quarterback (and a potential star, at that) of the Washington Huskies, is about as selfish and scummy as it gets. Signs with Washington for a lot of money, then posts an Instagram post - while a deceased female student-athlete that everyone around the university adored is having her memorial service done with most of the team in attendance - saying that he's leaving with a do-not-contact designation about a week later.

Washington's trying to fight it with the NCAA, but honestly? I'd just let him go, look at other options when he clearly is trying to get as much money as he can. And when he comes out into the draft, I've got him on my Do-Not-Draft list. If you're scummy and selfish enough to try to upstage a damned memorial for a student-athlete that most of your football team is there mourning her, you're scummy and selfish enough to do anything bad.

Going to be interesting to see where he goes and how he's used.
I'd take him over Bain Jr. as far as edge rushers go. Reese could be elite, a Parsons-lite.

I'd say no lower than top-five unless he bombs the process.

I disagree, although I am a homer.

I believe Bain is going to be the best player in this draft. He just has “it”

He’s going to wreck things for offenses.

Other player that is going to BALL in the nfl from Miami is Keionte Scott, we have Q Lake though, so no need to draft him.

Bain has very short arms and his speed isn't anything special to make up for it; he really only goes with power. Bain's going to be very good, could be Verse-lite at his best, but I think Reese could be absolutely special.

Honestly, for my money, though (even though I don't bet)? Best player in that first round (not going to predict the later rounds because Nacua is proof that nobody really knows who the best player in a draft will be) is going to be Caleb Downs. There are no weaknesses with him. You can play him anywhere, any position in the secondary, even as a dime linebacker, and he'll make plays for you. I hesitate to say that a player is "safe" because even the safest players in a draft can bust and have busted...but Downs could challenge that, barring injury.

Maybe it's just me, but every time I watch Miami football to see Bain, I seem to come away more impressed with Akheem Mesidor.
