Google search shows the broken collarbone in the CFP that we know about. It shows the gastritis that we know about causing him to lose weight. It shows speculation that he got hurt in the South Carolina game but not reports or proof about such an injury and they speculate that he got hurt there because that was when the team and he went down hill. There is no massive injury history according to everything google can find.

To me you're inflating it in your mind because you do not like the guy. I've searched for injuries on him every time I read this from you and have yet to see anything worrying.
What about the elbow bursitis? And maybe you're right about the lower back injury. Three injuries is still a worrisome trend. But if the back injury is true - that is an even worse worrisome trend.

And yes - I don't want him because he will never be in the top 10 as a QB other than maybe in his first year since it usually takes a year to figure QBs out - Stroud and Daniels as the most recent examples. Took 2 years for teams to figure out Hurts.

But Verse was our last 1st round pick and was put on the field immediately because we needed more pass rush because AD retired so not really true :laugh2: :laugh4:
Exactly. So I’m holding on to the “All In” strategy expressed by McSnead which I chose to interpret as the Rams selecting a starter/significant contributor this year with the R1.13 pick.

Just to add - I really like Tyson but I believe his injury history is terrible. And taking him would be a huge risk.

This draft simply doesn't have the depth option that is good enough at either QB or OT for us to make the pick there at 13.

We could take Simpson, potentially, if another team like the Cards don't take him even higher. But it would be a reach. Maybe we hit, but I think it's a poor direction given that we're better off doing that next year in a deeper and more talented draft with our final pick in round one. :party2:

We could take one of several OTs, depending on which don't get taken ahead of us. But all of them would be reaches as questions and concerns abound. As with QB maybe we hit. It would be nice, however it won't change the fact it'll be a reach most likely if it happens.

If either happen, as I have said many times, I'll understand it. I'll even get behind it. Just not the way I'd go.

Oh and by the way at least with OT we're adding a piece that may help Stafford get that second title. It protects us potentially from OT injury, which as things stand right now with the depth chart we're probably up shit creek if either OT goes down.

How would people feel about this for 1st three rounds:

Monroe Freeling
De'Shaun Stribling
Garrett Nussmeier

I actually think this is how it could turn out.

Maybe Branch instead of Stribbling, but if you want the bigger WR, I've actually actually thought this is the way it could go, and I'd be pretty happy with it.

Yeah, this honestly would be an ideal 1st two days for me though I wish we had Jimmy back and I would forgo the QB here though Nuss has some lower half of the league starter potential.

I would take McCoy, Bain, Pregnon, Woods... lots of good options.
Pregnon and Woods would be major reaches. Pregnon is more then likely a 2nd rounder and not even the best OG on the board, maybe not even 2nd or 3rd best. Woods fluctuates, but many have him as a top of 2nd round pick. I'd be very happy with him in the 2nd myself.

Don't love Freeling. I think he will take a year or 2 to be able to hold up against NFL lineman. If we are taking a back up OT, I think they need to be able to step in this season if, God forbid, one of AJ or McClendon get hurt. I think edges will feast on Freeling this year. Fano, IMO, is by far the best OL we can take and he might even be the starter at center this year, while also being able to back up anyone on the line.

As there are so few blue chip players this year, I got to thinking, Avila was drafted as a center out of college. I know we messed around with him a bit there last offseason, but, if given the full offseason and training camp at the position, would he be superior to Shelton? Likely. One name that is mentioned as a blue chip player but plays a position of less value, thus being available at 13, OG Vega Ioane. This pick could help in several ways, we have Avila and Dotson contracts coming up after this year. Ioane is widely regarded as the best and most dominant OL in the draft. I would imagine this improves our line by a fair amount, improving center and guard with one pick.

Just a thought process because I am in no way advocating taking a OG at 13. In fact, I do advocate taking Fano because he is both good and versatile while being able to play OT. Just a thought

Yes, agree on Fano but I believe he will be gone by 13. I think Freeling can give you some spot starts this year but yes I wouldn't want him as a full time starter where his lack of exp could hurt us. I really like his upside for two years from now and think he can be better than average in a year.

Good takes, and I appreciate the nuances.
Still, I think after 5-7 players, it's pretty much pick the flavor you like. I think there will be a lot of perceived reaches.

I think a lot of the pundits mocks aren't taking context into account.
For example - if Tyson, or even guys like Branch, Stribbling, Bell, etc were playing opposite Smith at OSU, you don't think they would have totally crushed it in college? Maybe not the best example, but you get the idea.

But I think in this draft there are so many players that grade out similarly that teams are just gonna take the guy they really like, and for most teams that will be a different player and a different fit.

Yeah, I'm not a Tate guy myself. I agree, he had it easier then any of the top WR's due to all of the coverage and attention the best WR in the country attracted. Had he been the main guy, would he even be one of the top 3? Its unknown, but I'm not trading up for him in any scenario. Alternatively, Tyson was the offense (Lemon really was also, but he had at least a bit of help).

I'm looking hard for a starting LB with that 3rd pick before considering any QB in this draft.
