Can't blame the Chiefs there. Delane is a blue-chip talent.

I was assuming that they'd take Tyson or Lemon, though. He's a great corner, but I thought he'd be available at their pick.

There goes the dream of the Giants reuniting Ohio State linebackers.

Did they need to trade up for CB? Surprising.

Couple of examples already that fans really dont have a bead on how teams really view a lot of these guys.
While the Chiefs have many needs, Kansas City clearly needed replacements at the cornerback positions after losing both Trent McDuffie & Jaylen Watson to us, so it made sense that they would give up that much to get the top-rated CB prospect on the draft board. Jermod McCoy was the most talented player at that position but he had medical red flags with many anticipating that he'll need another surgery on his knee soon given its supposed degenerative condition.

The Chiefs arguably could have waited to nab Mansoore Delane at their original draft slot, especially with many gurus speculating (jokingly and not) that they could continue to develop quality cornebacks with lower draft selections, but they clearly made it a priority to get their top target rather than risk losing him and settling for the next guy on their draft board.
