Peppers is (unless he's injured?) one of the best S in the league.

Much better than anyone the Rams have.
Perfect pick up for Philly who are very inexperienced at safety. Hopefully someone else claims him first or maybe he isn't subject to waivers since he is a vet. Not sure what the cutoff for service yrs are in regards to waivers. It does say "released" and not waived. So he could end up in Philly if he has the choice in where he signs.

Curious why Rams didn’t do this with Lampkin. I’m guessing they weren’t willing to cut and lose someone like Murch or Mumpfield before Lampkin was put on IR and they were promoted to from the PS.
I’d also be interested if there’s normally a gentleman‘s agreement to not do what the Eagles did though.
I know this is how teams keep guys like Lampkin, I thought for sure when the Rams designated him waived /injured that he was going to be a Ram this year. I thought they could pull back waivers but it appears that the league just had the agreement like you said.
I'd love to hear mcVay/Snead thoughts on this

I'm surprised no one has brought it up in any of the pressers. The Eagles need to develop a top scouting team of their own instead of mooching off ours.
