Some think Stafford's career is done, but others recognize that Jackson and Noteboom are not even close to what we need at LT

Many believe that building from the lines out, comes before a shiny new QB who will get Bulgerized without a premium LT

Others feel that you grab the QB when you can because it's the most important position on the field.

Now it's your turn. Tell us the position you'd pick and why.

It could be either or none of the above. It depends on where we're picking and who's available.

I get the premise.. but I can honestly say that without knowing when the pick is and who's on the board, I can't answer.

I guess that speaks to how close of a decision it would be.

Shedeur Sanders was sacked 7 times, pressured 24 times, and hit 17 times last Saturday.
Seems like he'd feel right at home in the Rams offense

Depends on how the board falls tbh. Would like either if they're the right player, don't want to reach for one of the other just because they're there. It could end up being neither or a trade down, I think that's more likely If we can get a later first and pick up a late 2nd or couple other picks.

Where we pick I think depends on Matthew Stafford and the reticence on the Rams part from getting a quality back up QB. They are keeping their powder dry for 2024. I would not be surprised if they shut Stafford down for a while as we lose games.

I’ll take the QB.

I’d prefer to have him back up Stafford for at least a season.

Go T or C afterwards.

I'll also say that while I haven't dug into QB evaluations yet, there is the potential for this to be a really good QB draft class outside the first round. Right now, Caleb Williams and Drake Maye look to be clear first round picks. If they come out, J.J. McCarthy and Quinn Ewers will also be in consideration for a first round spot. That leaves guys like Michael Penix, Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels, and Jordan Travis outside the first round (Penix might find his way into the first).

That's without getting into some other interesting guys like Jalon Daniels, Cameron Ward, Michael Pratt, Dillon Gabriel, and Spencer Rattler. I'd really like for us to get our hands on a QB who can use his legs as a weapon. That makes me very intrigued by Jayden Daniels, Jordan Travis, and Bo Nix. I haven't had a chance to evaluate them yet, though. I'll say that Jayden Daniels is the guy who has especially piqued my curiosity because of how dangerous of a runner he is and how much he has grown as a passer under Brian Kelly's tutelage.

We've had pocket passers for too long. Having a QB who can burn defenses with his legs could take McVay's system to the next level.

I think Stafford has plenty of zip on his ball and can still play a few years with our restock in 24 and probably '25 at least.

Does he want to? I don't know.

He's always been a streaky, gunslinger QB, but with Kupp on these option routes it just looks much worse.

Mcvay has not helped him out with the long developing routes. Neither has the Oline against tough fronts.

It's easy to overreact in a game like this and want every coach fired and every player cut.

Realistically, if we nail LT, pass rusher, and some DB's, we are right in the mix.

And we have the draft capital and cap space to do it next year.

But first let's see who shakes free in Free Agency and take it from there.

I wouldn't pick a QB in the first round. Too many great QBs come out of later rounds and I'd rather take a chance on a LT. Or trade out of the first round and get a couple of players. Lots of good to great players to be had

We have a problem we need a new QB due to Stafford retiring 2024 or 2025 but where most likely we draft will not get a great QB usually there is 0 - 2 good ones usually they land at top of draft my guess we end up around drafting 15 or so. Same for a LT.

It really depends on which QB they like. Early round QB picks are such a damn gamble . I would prefer OL first and then find a gem QB in round 2 or 3. But we drafted Bennett so I'm not entirely confident in these guy's QB evaluation skills.

Usually seems like the dancing bear types are off the board by the 20s. Obviously the best ones go top ten but there's often guys with a chance to help you well into the teens. Guys who go in the second round are the types who have a small chance of being a LT and those are typically gone before we usually pick in round 2.

So if we draft top ten again this year with an actual first round pick we're gonna have a good shot to get a tackle. Might need to maneuver a bit because teams will know we're after them, but if they hit on a LT this line should be loads better because we have a lot of the other pieces. Only center really at that point concerns me and you can get those guys into midrounds. Jackson can move to RG for us, or we can get OG in FA as well prior to the draft since they are the cheapest of the linemen.

LT is the one position where it's a bitch to get them outside of that top range. QB too of course but I honestly like our chances of hitting on one of those outside round 1 better than LT due to McVay and company surrounding him with top end gameplanning and development. WCO developed precisely to allow for using weaker armed QBs who are quick processors to run a quick passing game that is viable. It's not what McVay prefers, as he's the most aggressive downfield WCO coach I think in the league. But he can do it if he gets a guy like that, as he did with Cousins.

But this staff has zero chance to develop a top LT without getting a top talent. IMO. We're just not good at that, we need to get better clay for the statue.

I still think if we have a solid O, RB and scheme , Staff can keep us afloat while we groom the next Mahomes. Look at what the Titans rookie QB did today? Just need to be smart about it

As of right now 5 of the 1st 6 teams set to pick in the draft need a QB. Granted there aren't enough guys ranked that highly but there's a ton of QB needy teams these days and I think getting a QB (and a good QB) will be extremely difficult or mostly impossible.

I'm having a hard time counting on one hand the amount of great QBs that came from after the 1st round in the last 15 years.
