But that means they will have to interview HC candidates themselves under the impression that their OC is already in place
If Washington is interviewing HC candidates where Bienemy is in place as the OC, it could turn some guys awayI dunno about that. They need only require a team to ask permission to speak to him. With the comp picks rule in place, I play it the same way. This shouldn’t upset anybody because it’s not like the hiring team is giving up those picks.
If I’m the new HC, I probably want my own staff, so one way or the other, EB is probably out of a job in Washington.
Yeah.. I'm not giving up a potential asset who's been with me all of one season to be "nice."I dunno about that. They need only require a team to ask permission to speak to him. It would look like clear collusion if they helped out the Chiefs (IMO).Washington is under no obligation to help the Chiefs. I don't know if they can trade a coach at this point in the season anyways. He's likely under contract for a couple more years but that doesn't mean an incoming coach has to keep him either.
Disagree with the last. Anytime a coach is fired the assistants and position coaches aren't fired too. New coaches choose who to retain and not, they pick their staff. This is k own and communicated. It would look like clear collusion if they helped out the Chiefs (IMO).
Also agree with @dieterbrock that interviewing HC with an OC they may not want on staff could hamper a top candidate taking that job.
I understand your point. It a jumbled mess with coaches left go and coordinators under contract. Bienemy is an example of a coach who may miss out on opportunities else where if the Redskins take a long time to find an HC. It's all just our opinions so I'll agree to disagree, no one on line pays me for my opinion outside of Kansas loners.Disagree with the last. If a team wants to interview him for their next HC job he'll get interviewed for sure. Not giving him to KC right now doesn't affect that.I understand your point. Yeah, people seem to be confused as to the specifics here.If a team wants to interview him for their next HC job he'll get interviewed for sure. Not giving him to KC right now doesn't affect that.
Its whackyI agree. It’s a tricky situation: how does washington keep the potential comp picks without losing a good candidate (who would want his own staff)?
I don’t think I would want the job knowing I’m inheriting a guy who has been passed over yet again. I would have to know he’s gone the minute I put pen to paper.
Is this one of those moments where you have to have the last word? I'll read your response.....If a team wants to interview him for their next HC job he'll get interviewed for sure. Not giving him to KC right now doesn't affect that.
ok? Have a nice night. Not sure where you're going with this but yeah have a good night. Is this one of those moments where you have to have the last word? I'll read your response.....
That was a wasted 4th round pick. Wish they had gone center or guard instead on that pick.Earnest Brown IV was signed to the practice squad today.
5th round but yeah. That was a wasted 4th round pick. Wish they had gone center or guard instead on that pick.
That makes it even more wasted5th round but yeah.
Unlike Desjuan Johnson, Earnest Brown (and Larrell Murchison for that matter) just do not Flash anything, in my opinion.
By the way, that post about Brown to the Practice Squad was from early last week. Brown was one of just two PS players the Rams did NOT sign to Reserve/Futures contracts the past few days.
