You gotta think DeAndre Swift is done in Detroit. The coaching staff never used him last season, for whatever reason. Maybe it was the non-stop injuries. There was some speculation that the coaching staff thought he could play through them, and was displeased when he did not. He seemed to fall out of favor with the Lions. At times last year he was being used as RB#3 (!), even when healthy, behind Williams and Reynolds! David Montgomery is a great RB, but you need two serviceable RBs with the number of injuries they sustain. The Gibbs pick makes sense when seen in that lens. It is really a two-man RB room. Swift will be moved.

He has injury problems and it's the last year of his rookie deal. He's gone after this year even if they didn't draft Gibbs.
